If you guys keep this up I'm going to have to set stocking quantities on these. A little trick to help that kinda costly seal last, Gummi Pflege, treating the seal with that from time to time will help keep it soft and help prevent any sticking.

    wow those hijacked links SUCK.

    edit: I love Gummi Pflege!

Weird thing though, I've noticed a fair amount of (what seems like) premature cracking and aging of even some of the new rubber bits on my car; no matter how much GF I smear on there. Muffler donutsfor example.

I have noticed the same thing, lucky to get 5 years out of what lasted 20-30 years originally. Rubber muffler hangers last 2 years, various hoses age out much quicker that they used to, cv boots last 30K miles, wiper blades are good for 6 months max, tires crack after few years. I believe it has to do with the quality of rubber, it is no longer as good as it used to be. It is no longer good old rubber, it's some some kind of compound of who knows what.

Agreed the forums VigLinks program is very annoying. And I've noticed the same with some newer rubber vs the old stuff on my cars as well, formula changes in production are what I chalk it up to.

Just placed an order for the seal with ECS. Didn't see the info about the Gummy Pfledge until now.
Will pick some up another time.
