Hey everyone,
So I have a 2002 X5 (3.0). I have my service engine soon light on. On a cold start, I get rough idle. (Engine holds at around 1000-1200 rpm for a while then drops to normal operating range). I went to a guy who has a scanner and got the following codes:
250, Function check, tank ventilation
245, flow rate sec air system too low bank 1
246, flow rate sec air system too low bank 2
150 oxygen-sensor voltage before catalytic converter
So .. What does this mean? I understand that it has something to do with not having a good air fuel mixture or something along those lines .. In short I would just like to know the names of the parts that need replacing for me to get rid of that light and have a healthy engine.
Regards!
Not knowing what brand name the scanner was...are these specific codes for that brand type? If yes, then we would need to know the brand name so that we would know what table to look up.
The general DTC (diagnostic trouble codes) that are used across the board...and which can usually be googled (since the codes have been around since 1996) are mostly standard across all car manufactures...and they are made up of 5 digits (see chart below).
If you do have the 5 digit DTC codes and you just left off the 1st two digits...then put them back in and do a google search. Here's an example if the last code you typed was P0150: https://www.obd-codes.com/p0150
