Shit it was in my tbread. I’ve also got a 4”-5” silicone 45 for the bottom now that goes into the bumper area instead of that 4” plastic tube.

    4”-3.5” elbow

cut 1/2 from the 3.5 end of the elbow and use it on the HFM to oem elbow connection for a tight seal.

I hold it on, tighten it so it’s secure and then used a heat gun to soften it and it retained the new shape.

Oh nice, I have stainless flux core and it’s ass, but if your gas is separate, you should be good. You’ll want argon for stainless. Post some pic when you’re done!

More welding, decided to make my own true 2.5” mandrel bent stainless section 2 & 3. Technically my section 1 is half 2.5” as well as the cats. I didn’t like the section 2’s D shape piping after the H.

So I also ditched the H and made a true X. Almost all of the piping is 2.5” 16g stainless. I decided to use V-bands on the end of the muffler to ease installation and removal. Just an example of the work I’ve been doing below. I’ll be posting full pics once it’s done.

Got the X midpipe done. 2.5” 16g stainless. I’m not the best welder at all and cleaned them up with flap wheels

V-bands for the muffler connections. Stock flanges for the section 1 connection

    - - - Updated - - -

The X is made from 2, 15 degree bends, cut and merged. Then I used 2 more 15 degree bends to straighten them. All the other bends are mostly 45*. I had to make a few 25 degree and 2 10 degree bends.

ill finish the install tomorrow afternoon. im off till thursday this week, so this thing WILL be done... i stopped early today because it starting raining, and i need the garage door open to work on the rear, i was getting soaked and it was miserable so i called it a day at 4pm.

    all thats left to do:
hang the exhaust, make the center support bracket..
clear the codes from last start up.
    put the wheels back on
get it off the jack stands

I just got a tracking number, FINALLY, for my euro washer tank and radiator cover... i have all the rest of the parts needed for install already.

Minor setback, started up great and sounds awesome, then the squealing started, traced it back to the trans, pulled the trans and 2 things happened, #1 I had the clutch disk in backwards. And #2. The pilot bearing just falls right out as well. ???? The hell???
i must have had my stupid hat on that day, measured the pilot beating again, it’s correct no damage. No input shaft damage either. Decided to pull the fly wheel. Had it resurfaced, on my way to pick it up now. I also need to weld up 3 tiny pin holes in the exhaust I missed, so that’s a positive, anyway, getting it done today, picking up the flywheel now

CDF35839-85CD-4C4C-987F-D77025146718.jpgThis is the FX/F1 chromoly 16lb flywheel. The machine shop said it was one of the strongest flywheels they have ever cut. Said the density was super hard, he liked it.

Hey shifty, did you take a picture of how the clutch disk is supposed to be installed? The protruding end of clutch disk towards the flywheel or towards the trans?

toward the flywheel.. i had it backwards when i put the protruding end facing the trans... it was causing the disk to barely touch in neutral and the wheels to slowly spin...

we got the trans back in last night, got all the way up to putting the guibo back on.. then realized i had about 1/2" space between the 3 drive shaft bolts and guibo??? i didnt know the shaft can collapse, i had changed positions on the quibo thinking that was it... after searching on here, it appears others have ran into that issue, strange.. working the next 5 days in a row, but i'll be on it when i get home tonight to finish that and re-button up the exhaust.

That space isn’t an issue mine did it too. That lock nut on the middle splines is weaker. I usually get the giubo loosely bolted and pull the rear half to the diff by hand, then you can preload the CsB last

and depending on what clutch you have the disk can face the trans with the protrusion. Mine does, so just triple check to always be sure what’s recommend.

what clutch system do you have? I have the FX/F1 stage 2 carbon kevlar... uses a Sachs pressure plate.. from the added research ive done, with other people with the FX/F1 system, the protrusion needs to face the flywheel.
