Have you checked compression? Have had S54's that sat for quite some time have low compression (60-70psi on all cylinders), and by adding a tablespoon of oil or so to each piston was enough to get it to seal and fire. After running for 10 minutes and checking compression, numbers were back in spec.
WANTED: 18" BBS RCj's
That’s odd, but no I have not yet, my computer is not with me now. I have to wai to get it back to check that

Any updates?

I had a four stroke jet ski not start because of stuck rings from sitting. May be on to something there.

would not be anywhere near the case.. this is a brand new build.. and it already cranks so it hasnt been sitting and it moves freely...

at the moment no... PITT is checking my DME on his car today.. new injectors arrive tomorrow... i'll also be taking the valve cover off.. and doing another re-timing... DME wont be back till next week at best.. Im sure there is nothing wrong with it, but we wanted to 100% rule that out..

Ok so my DME.l checks out ok, confirmed by another car with the same swap, day off tomorrow. Doing the timing again

Works and fired right up...had a CEL too. Ttfs should delete ALL the swap associated DTCs for you, free* is it encrypted or standard? I have not gotten a change to open your file on my comp
The last file I got
from Frank was a BIN and not an ENC file and he told me to use BMWflash to put it on so it should not be encrypted

Once I got my engine running I cleared all the codes. Then let it run for a minute or so to collect actual DTC's. TTFS instructed me to send the log of the active DTC's and I did. I then received a final tune which deletes or ignores those DTC's (such as post cat O2 sensors which I don't have, EGT sensor, etc).
So far with the multiple engine starts I have 0 DTC's so I'm happy but won't know for sure until I get some full drive cycles out of it.
awesome, good to know, thank you
on a side note... is my timing off, if i can drop both pins on the bridge into the slots with no issue? would it be benificial to completely remove the VANOS and just start over with putting in the VANOS gears at the first tooth and doing it all over? cause thats where im at right now..

How's she coming? Any updates.

yes,
just now finished a compression test..

looks like a consistant pattern... so might be off a tooth on timing?? hopefully no bent valves. Pulling the timing cover now, and going to follow Beisan Systems cam timing "how-to".. good thing i just got another valve cover gasket delivered.

Yeah it’s visible to the naked eye that it’s off, don’t k ow how the hell that happened when I have pics of the timing all lined up and correct, only thing I can think of if when you clock them at first, I missed that. The exhaust cam was dead on, the intake cam was off by 1/4” from bridge pin to hole

It’s Alive!!!
retimed today, started after a few tries, fires and dies, fires and dies. Forgot that I had the damn MAF plugged in. Unplugged it and fired and stayed alive!!!
So when you think you’re did things right, never say never. Will post a vid later. Problem solved, after changing CPS, TPS, injectors, and pulling my hair out looking at wiring

CONGRATS! That's a BIG weight off your shoulders, I know!
So i had enough time just to clean up the garage a bit and put away some things before i had to come in to work at 5pm
next i'll working on putting back the wiring into the cubby hole and getting the front of the car back on, then finish the exhaust. its 90% done, just need to attach the rear muffler. Using my E36 Stromung muffler ... going to also eliminate the factory H pipe and make a true X pipe right there. I bought another stock Section 1 so i can use its bends and pipe diameter.
I also fubar'd one of my 10 AN fittings on the oil cooler on the oil housing, over tightened it and made the swivel pop the fitting loose, essentially screwed up the aluminum.. but luckily my O'Reilly's has a "speed shop" section and they stock AN fittings, got a new 10 AN 45* in black..
thank you to all who gave help and idea's... especially PITT M3 who texted me at all hours of the night and provided links and how to's and wiring info.. i hope to one day return the favor. Not to forget M52power and Mitch500 for their input..

SO change of plans.... im parting out the car...
jk
change of plans though, no longer going to use the Stromung rear section. The internals are also 2" as are the connecting pipes into the back of the muffler. I feel this will be a bottle neck considering the OD of the stock Section 2 is 2.375" with an ID of 2.25". Going to do a custom route like you guys and use a 2.5" muffler.
Stromung is for sale now.
