Forgot this pic, finished the wiring and the overflow tank

And this one, it’s a pic of the heat shield that I cut in half. It doesn’t with with Status Grüppe headers, primary #5 and #6 stick up too high to mount it at all, the bolt holes for the shield are off by 3/8”. But the front half works just fine so I cut it off at the primary 3 location to help protect the coolant hose I have running back to the tank.

Looks good but I would def get the E46 quick disconnect for the water connections and clamp your hose to those
Can you read a part number off that coolant level sensor? I haven’t been able to figure out which one to use on mine.

The E36 one should work, I believe it breaks circuit when low...I’ll double check mine.
E36 sensor goes in from the bottom, so it should be backwards. E30 may work, but there are several different ones, hence my request. I’ve been doing without. My display panel is pretty much shot anyway. Never could figure out how to make the messages display in English. Thinking about simply hardwiring a warning light.

I think I have one, I’ll send it to you PM me your address
Are all the hose connectors the same size? I’m also looking for the heater core ones that go to the hard line on the driver side and the one that is on the block on the that long aluminum pipe that’s next to it

Looking for the heater core hoses, found a few used ones online that I can use for the connectors, just want to make sure these are the right ones

Check this out, I found autozone equivalents to use for much cheaper

my hose box is at the other garage, I’ll get over there with in the next few days
oh i followed your post about those hoses already, they are on the car... but i dont have the BMW hard plastic connectors to mount the hoses on, i just put them onto the pipes with band clamps.. i was going to get the stock hoses and do what you did and cut them off and add them to the new hoses.
just wanted to make sure the numbers i posted, were to the correct hoses BMW uses on both the black pip and the aluminum block pipe.. so i can take the connectors and add my AZ hoses

Oh I see, I’m gonna run to the other garage on Christmas and that’s where the parts are still. How many do you need 3?
yeah, are they all the same size?

Yes same size, but one has an angled tip, other 2 are straight on output
I used stock hoses and only had to trim one of the heater core hoses shorter, fits pretty good too
was doing my AN lines, having a devil of a time with getting them into the fittings. So i bought this lil baby
61lPtrqQUhL._SX463_.jpg
made it 100 times easier, dont even need to tape the ends. Also found out my battery is pretty much dead since i disconnected it last april.. forgot to put it on a tender, so i picked this up as well

should be here tomorrow. if it wont charge ill just get a new battery

WhatIs that first thing?

I didNot forget about the heater hose thing, I’ll keep you posted
you put your AN fitting into it... then push the hose into it.. its sort of Bell shaped so it helps taper the braided hose end to get into the fitting, super easy with these. they also sell them in sets of 3, -6AN -8AN -10AN

UPDATE:
aaaaarrrrgggg!!!!!
so I finally buttoned up a few things, filled the motor with break in oil. Had to also get a new battery cause my old one no longer holds a charge. Get everything everything powered up, jump in the car, ignition on, great, go to crank.... no crank.
f$@#%. K think about it for a while, people on m3froum having the same issue state it’s the starter solenoid or fuel pump or relay. Well I had the starter checked out months ago, I was fine. Fuel pump and relay and all wiring harnesses are all brand new..... k
then I get the idea of putting the s52 EWS and RFID Chip back into the car, go to crank....it f’ng CRANKS!!, but WTF??? I thought the s52 system no longer functions like that??
BUT.... all it does is crank, it acts like it wants to turn over but won’t .... try 3-4 more times, sorta fires but not really. Can’t get this bitch to fire. Kinda stumped, is this an EWS thing from the s54 DME? It was supposed to be turned off. I know I have fuel, I can smell it through the throttle bodies.
any thoughts?

Yea leave E36 body side stuff in. Does it fire for a split second then die? Ttfs tune right? Maybe have them check the bin.
obviously you triple checked all grounds and connections right? If you have air and fuel, you’re missing spark.

No it doesn’t exactly fire completely. The first time I held the throttle down all the way, it lumbered for about 5 seconds then died. All the subsequent cranks just resulted in cranking with no real take off.
Question on on the grounds, does each ground wire need its own anchor point or can you put 2 or more ground wires to one bolt?

As long as contact is good, ground points can be doubled down. Fuel press reg vac line on? - also if the intake is off, do you have the large vac line that’s at the end of the air rail run to the brake booster? The car won’t hold idle well if at all if that’s open to air. Plug it or hook it to the booster. Make sure ICV large connection that goes to the bottom of IM, if it were in, IS open to air.
