lol i think so, need to mount it then start to rewrap it, was going to wrap it before i put it on the car then thought better of it because i dont know what needs to be where and how long.. also opened up Andrews swap harness laid that out.. i see there is a connector that needs to be replaced, where do i source that at ?

oh ok cool ill check your thread...

yeah typically the section 1 & 2 will physically bolt in, then you need to modify the rear muffler section (3) from your E36. Im lengthening the section 1 due to the Euro cats by about 8-9" longer, so i took out the center section of the section 2.. which is really just a perforated, joined muffler with no cross over section but hollow to the other side, like another H pipe but slightly silenced. I like my exhaust to rumble and ive read numerous posts from tuners that a mostly separate dual system is the best on the S54. So i'll see how this sounds.
Im going to use my Stromung rear section, (modified) and see what its like.. still quite a few weeks away from starting the car but im working on everything a little bit at a time. I basically get about 2-3 hours a week to work on it.. which blows goats.. then on top of that i make the Valve spring tool for the M50/S52 guys, which eats up my time but pays for the swap..

update: since i havent done it in a while. lately ive been so involved with making the valve spring tools for the S50/52 guys that i havent had time to work on my car.
So up to today, i laid out the swap harness, drilled a 1 1/4" hole where the old throttle cable went, pushed the plug for the new accelerator to go to.
Found the correct size vacuum line for the fuel rail to the fuel pressure reg.
Finished welding the section 1 cats in place,
Found a box that had the bimmerworld Euro overflow conversion kit that i bought a year ago, has the correct mounting flanges to mount the tank, kick ass!
Mounted the power steering resevoir
Finished the shifter referbish (new rubber seal, grommet for the arm, bushings ect)
Mounted the trans cross brace and got the trans off the jack
I also did the restructuring of the trans harness to remove the SMG parts thanks and big help from PITT M3 RR who has helped me out a ton with this project.
whats left?
I need to mount the trans harness, the swap harness, put some oil in, put some power steering fluid in, and i should be good to start it..

Nice updates! Man I've been trying to source the euro expansion tank mount parts and its nearly impossible so I'm probably going to just make some custom aluminum brackets to hold it...
Yeah mine came in th bimmerworld conversion kit that they used to sell. BOught it last year before I knew I was going to do a swap. I didn’t really notice that they included both brackets for the tank

OK SERIOUSLY...
how is the living hell are you guys mounting the freaking Oil dipstick!?!?!?! this mother F-ker is NOT going in with the damn E36 M3 power steering reservoir sitting in the way. Ive tried both the E46 M3 dipstick and the Z3 S54 dipstick.. the Z3 seems to fit better, has a slight different bend.. no way in hell is the E46 M3 one going in...
am i mounting the reservoir wrong? i am also using the stock E36 M3 motor arms... i mounted the reservoir on top of the arm, but i need more room.. is there a smaller reservoir to use? this shit is pissing me off ..

i have the same issue, i gave up. i swiveled the oil reservoir bracket away just enough to install the dipstick and tighten the one bolt down. i know its ghetto but that is the only way i could get the dipstick on
looks like i just figured it out....
there are 2 different part numbers for the reservoir bracket for E46 M3 and E36 M3
For the E36 M3, which is what im trying to use right now, the part number is 32411141655
E46 m3 is 32411092940
, looking at both pics on ECStuning, looks like the E46 M3 one is a tiny bit shorter than the E36 M3.. this deffinately accounts for the lack of room i have when the tube hits the top of the reservoir

maybe, i tried to swap the brackets but it didnt help any. i do have a e46 m reservoir i can try to test fit to confirm before you order one

reservoirs are the same... the brackets are different, forgot to put in the last post, the word BRACKET, not the reservoirs... the E36 M3 is taller.. the E46 M3 is shorter..

i also swapped the e46 m brackets, that didnt work either.
fock
well the new bracket was $10 so i dont mind that cost to try it... if not ill just make new mounts out of metal tabs and push it towards the frame rail

Hey 2 things,
#1. What size A/C belt are you guys using? I’m using the e36 compressor and the e36 mount/tensioner. The E36 belt is too small, so is the E46 since is used a different tensioner that can not be swapped to the e36 mount
#2. I know this blue connector on Andrews harness needs to be changed to that black connector, well the problem is I no longer have the E36 engine harness, where can I source this connector?
98 Estoril ///M3 4/6
S54 swap CSL
You can get a molex connector at radio shack and cut off the connectors from each harness then use it in place. Any 2 pin will work. But the black connector comes the e46M harness, not the E36 one
no a/c for me sorry

im using a gates 5PK865, the width is a little smaller but it works
i think its the black plug with 4 wires, but you are only gonna use 2
shit... im so retarded... i think i saw that but dismissed it cause i was looking at the pic PITT M3 has on his thread where he already removed the other wires from it..

dont worry, he got me too hahahha
Oops haha yea I cleaned it up by removing the unused wiring
Update: pics to come, and ill fix the old pics as well since PB went full retard
got my manual transmission harness from Turnermotorsports. i attempted to cut down my SMG harness but it was just a mess and became more bulky from my re-taping lol
things i got finished:
Cut down the power steering reservoir holder to allow dipstick to fit properly
Mounted the A/C compressor and got a new belt that fit (thanks brokeazz)
Changed the A/C tensioner
Sent out the DME to TTFS for their tune
Changed the vacuum tube from the air manifold to the FPR
Mounted the VDO oil pressure sending unit to the frame rail
things in the works:
the euro overflow tank mounting
installing the new trans harness
routing the vacuum lines to the brake booster
installing the S52 coolant temp sensor into the lower radiator hose
setting up the power distribution block

I noticed your keeping your 5speed, I am going to do so as well. Just preparing for my swap.
Question for you, you mentioned you bought a manual transmission harness from turner because your current engine harness is smg. If my s54 came from a 6 speed manual do I need a extra harness for my 5 speed or is my s54 engine harness good to go. This wiring info Is a total overload.
Also what lower hose do you have e36 or e46, just wondering how your mounting the sensor.
