Your 6mt harness will be fine. The smg harness can be thinned out as well.

this is where I’m at with this swap, connecting the 3 wiring harnesses. The z3 harness was already on the engine when I dropped the engine into the car, I got the swap harness started (did the accelerator wire connector), I finally got the 6MT brand new harness from Turnermotorsports.

As as I can see, the trans harness needs to be “flipped” so the connections go toward the passenger side.

The trouble im having, there are some connectors that I can’t see where the connect to.

The intake cam sensor, what harness does that go to? Also there are 2 plugs from the z3 engine harness see here:

These come from the z3 engine harness coming out of the black box on the block driver side, the hell are these

also, these are off the 6MT trans harness, where do these go

why do you have it routed(first pic) to the driver side? the black plug looks like one of the plugs that goes to dme.
do you have reverse plug routed down to the tranny yet?

I just did my z3m harness today. I didn't have those plugs on the black box on the engine block.... I'm not sure if you can see in this pic.

You should take detailed photos/notes of the connection that have to be made with Andrews harness. Z3m/trans/Andrews harness, I'll be in your shoes not to long from now.

    Keep it coming

heres a few things to note,

the intake box... on the side facing the fire wall, there are 3 plastic hooks, i believe for the wiring harness. These for some reason where hindering the install of the air intake box, i cut them off, and it fits much better with them gone.

second, i see you already mounted your oil dipstick, take it out.. for one you've mounted it too far towards the engine. mine sits much farther away, with part of the tube touching the alternator between it and the alt plug,

sounds good! also with your z3m harness, the main thick wiring loom coming from the black box on the side of the engine block. Did you run that behind the throttle actuator or below it?

below, there enough room for it, and the trans harness.

also, youre going to NEED the E46 M3 power sterring reservoir holder... its phsyically shorter then the E36 one. I actually cut my E36 holder down by 1.25" and re-welded them back. The E46 Holder is not as short as my bracket now, the problem is the dipstick tube hits this, and becomes a mounting issue for the tube.

I have an E46 M3 holder im not using, its brand new, cost was $11 from ECStuning. or modify yours, it needs to be done or you're going to get real frustrated when you mount your airbox

Are you running a stock s52 dual mass flywheel and clutch or upgrading to something different with your s54/5speed combo?

Is that bracket welded on or fastened some other way?

Also what hose are you using going from engine to reservoir? Is the plastic "quick disconnect" fitting required on the engine side?

i welded it, i didnt want to trust just using sheet metal screws with no backing into the firewall.

the outlet on the tank, 1.05", the outlet on the engine block line is .85" so there needs to be a transition in the middle somewhere. I dont think im going to use the E46 style connectors, just using some band clamps, like i did on the driver side block water pipe.

I also cut the organized the transmission harness (didnt cut the wires, just cut the rubber holders)to go behind the block area. Need to do the positive power source, which will sit under the tank, then do the grounds

How come you’re not using those connectors on the engine side? It’s fairly easy to cut the old fitting from the stock hose and then clamp your new stuff right on. HD has cooper reducers too for the e30 tank outlet to motor side water pipe.

My engine never came with the hoses, and when checking prices on the hoses, it’s a lot of money to throw just to use one end connector piece

What options are there for the transmision mounts. I am doing an s54 swap with six speed, engine is done waiting for the mounts. Dealer called back and said the euro mounts for transmission are unavailable (e36 euro mounts). What is everybody using who is installing the 6speed into the e36.

I really like the rogue engineering trans mounts if you're looking for a firmer mount than OEM. I highly recommend you steer clear of "through-bolt" mounts as they only absorb vibration in 1 direction and have terrible NVH.

Do you mean the crossmember, part 23702227892? It does look like most of the US online vendors say it is no longer available. UUC has a really high price but says it is in stock - http://store.uucmotorwerks.com/europ...892-p1836.aspx
    S54 swap DME flashing - $100
S54 swap CAN interface board (for proper A/C & check engine light) - $275
e36 SAP sim/secondary air pump simulator:
    $75 - standard or $170 - plug & play
    e36 post-cat O2 sims: $115 shipped, plug & play
