    E60 545i

my dad and i went to the bmw dealer today to check out the 545i. We test drove (it was unbelievable) it and my dad finally decided to buy one for himself. That thing revs up sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo freaking quick. I got to test drive it too and the engine was begging me to "REV ME BABY!!!" It's all black, fully loaded. (beautiful car by the way, despite the fact that everyone is like "screw bangle")and the best thing is, it's manual!!! ahhh imma try to trade my 325ci with my dad. lol

Black looks best 'cuz it hides all of the unsightly Bangle-design edges. Also, with black-on-black, it's gonna' get awfully hot in there.

Sounds like it's a sweet ride, though.

There is a beautiful blue color that belongs to one of the new 5 sport editions i believe. I saw it when they were prepping the bmw employees on it way before it came out. The regular 5s were silver and the sports were blue, I hope they keep that color for production, it was gorgeous.

    .
If you go black, you have to get the Auburn seats. That's a great combo and I wish I went with it myself.

The new 5er looks good in lighter colors too, you just have to make sure it's got the 17" or 18" rims. The 525i rims are just too small for the size of the body.

    No it's 325hp/330tq.

I'd guess that it's about as quick as an E46 M3 with a body in the trunk.

I don't think it's that quick, but it's quick. I'd guess somewhere around the mid 5's.

The European 745/545 comes with 333hp

Why couldn't they just make them the same way, weird...

Because deep down the Germans hate us, and spitefully gimp all the US market cars.

Actually it's mainly because of the stupid treehuggers here that've pushed for all these federal emissions regulations.

Frankly, with the E60 M5 being 500hp, and the 545 being what, a 4.4L V8? I think it should be at least 380hp.

Actually I read somewhere that the diffference in European and US horsepower ratings is just in the testing and specification method. I'm not sure about this though. Anyone have any info?

Yes that's true, we use SAE. Actually it may be the only reason for the 333/325 difference, they're so close together.

I was thinkin about my car though and how it should really be 321hp stock.

I think there were rumors of the engine being bumped to 4.8L and the power going up to 400hp or so.

not sure how much truth to that... gonna badge it as a 750, 650 and 550.
