Chain guides and valley pan gasket, plus anything else you think needs replacement

20 hours by the book, significantly easier with the engine out.

Thanks, yes it was a lot less than the book. Going to get the engine painted in the new few weeks and then re-run the wiring to tidy it up. Pictures

Cable Sleeving with paracord is a thing some people do on the smaller wires (near the MAF\Ebox\etc) as the M62 is pretty ugly with all the multicolor wires after all.

I'll post some pictures once I have completed the wiring. Painted the engine yesterday and the intake manifold, just the rocker covers and valve covers to go and I can start the re-assembly and hope it fires up!!

Does anyone have the wiring diagram for the injectors and ignition coils please?

Also any company that sells engine bay bolts to dress the engine as I've painted it all now and the bolts look a bit manky. I'll post pictures as I'm very happy with the look.

Does anyone know who does serpentine belts to a custom length please?

    Thanks
How does it run with the CCV blanked? Did you run it with it on first? I tried swapping a crankcase breather on my SR20 (4 cylinder turbo motor) once and it ran like crap in comparison. Think I actually lost some power. The engine really did not like having any vacuum to the head I think. Eventually I installed a catch can, but ensured that it was plumbed so that a vacuum was kept on the head.

I've done the same as you and rigged a catch can but it still regulates the pressure through the CCV. Just doesn't allow the manifold to get filled up with oil now.

Progress is going well and I will post some pictures this week. The engine looks great with the wire tuck.

Post to the E39 section if you ever need help with the M62, you'll get quite a bit of attention there.

They also have a project of it going into a TR8.

Getting the last few underside bits prepped and the roll cage in before painting the underside and then the engine can go in. Got some air tank from Flo that look amazing. I'll add pictures at the weekend.

So I've binned the Alpina lump and going to go for the S62B50 with a 6 speed manual. Might start a separate thread if people are keen to see the build?
