There is a very stylized 99 M roadster on ebay. I guess it was custom ordered white with a black/red interior.

I'm not sure the interior was custom ordered, as that was a standard production interior. There were 84 Alpine White over Imola Red M roadsters made. Being white actually makes it rarer than the red interior (by a considerable margin actually), but he painted the car so it's no longer original. Certainly asking top dollar for a non-original example, despite the low mileage it is a molested car.

I'm really digging this color combo...I had no idea Impala Brown was an interior leather color option, until I confirmed it with a VIN decode. I especially love the extended leather, black dash, door panels and carpets.

In 1989 I bought a 1979 Scirocco in Brasilbraun, with a brown interior.
The bronze exterior color was fantastic looking (IMO, though not as cool as a sporty color) but the brown interior just screamed 1970s at a time that 1970s was Not Hip.
Fast forward 30 years and an 18-year old brown car really catches the eye...my, how times have changed.
'86 MR2 (a friend's), '79 Scirocco
My 2nd gen white Scirocco (Scirocco #2 for me) 8 valve took me 412,000 miles on one clutch. Crank pulley bolt just finally sheared off. Gave it to my mechanic for payment of it's last rights and he put a new engine in and it was sold to an auto-crosser.My Z3 just turned 194,000. It would be nice to buy the brown one with !9,000, as I bought mine with 17,000. Too bad the tan top didn't fare well. The first Scirocco I bought was Montego black metallic which looked brown in the right light.

Damn, I think that brown would look awesome paired with my oxford green. I have to get the seats redone at some point but I imagine completing all the other little brown bits would end up being too difficult. If anyone has a good idea of a better color than just doing beige again when I redo the seats Id welcome it
I bet that 16V was a screamer. I replaced the Scirocco above with an 8v '86 GTI...which I loved.
In the '80s I had 3 Mk I Sciroccos and would also have bought a Mk III had they ever been brought stateside.
Somehow the square lights on the Mk II Scirocco never appealed to me like the 4 round lamps on the early models.
I think there may be some connection why I like the front view of the Z3!
19k mile Z3 Coupe...kinda wish my rear ending this morning was a bit worse than it was.

Sounds like a greedy dealer got their hands on it and wants all the money
Imo 8k is all the money for that car but hey

Was just browsing BAT and found this 2002 alpine white Z3 M over black with 52k miles. 6 days to go and it is already at 40.5k lol
Beautiful car and I love AW on these Z3s.

Looks like a nice one. It has the window sticker with the original selling price of $46k. Out of curiosity I put that amount in a stock market calculator and if $46k was invested in 2002 it would be worth $203,780 today. Of course the seller could have picked it up 10 years ago for $20k, in that case he might beat the stock market.
This is why I'm not in this game (other than the money issue )... To me, that just looks like an ordinary plain-jane car with way more than 'collector' miles, yet not enough to have gotten all the maintenance done that's coming due (much less upgrades over the crummy stock suspension, diff mount, cooling system, etc.)
It's just getting to the mileage where the cooling system needs to be replaced ($800-$1000 to do it well), the suspension needs to be replaced ($2000+ for a good one), it really needs diff mount reinforcement ($4000). Rod bearings? I'd pick my M54 3.0 any day of the week over that car, with all the stuff I've done to improve it (not just replace stock parts but upgrade including diff mount reinforcement, suspension, cooling system, etc). Yet needless to say my car isn't 'worth' $40k to that market (it is to me of course).
The real winners here would be people who managed to snag a <10k mile mint S54 coupe a few years ago when they were $30k or so, and now are going for $80k plus. If I had one like that I think I'd cash in right now, because we're rapidly approaching the end of the gasoline era (one way or another). Sort of like chucking around a golden hand grenade with the pin pulled. My opinion anyway.
E46 M3s are looking pretty attractive, though. Lots of them selling for less than $20k... If I could justify getting another car, I'd be really tempted. I've always liked those.
I was just looking at the latest M Coupe to show up on BAT, and noticed they referenced a set of French headlights. Is this just a set of yellow lenses, or is there something more to them?

I'm very surprised this is being offered with no reserve. It has 85k miles, which is only around 4250 per year, and no evidence of problems or notable damage in the past (per my cursory assessment of the listing).
It could potentially be a bargain.

I know it's a Z4M, but wow, what a mod list. If I had the spare cash and another garage bay, this would be mine:
