Not sure yet. Probably in the e46 section on here (though I've never posted there before). I don't really frequent e46fanatics and I think that's really a different crowd than what I'm in, LOL. Any suggestions, I'm all ears.

I plan to do the subframe reinforcement when I do the M3 rear end. Not sure yet when that will be, but most of the tearing that happens occurs on M3s due to the increased power. I plan on doing it just as a precaution since it will be on track a decent bit anyways. I'll be doing front suspension soon. I got new ZHP control arms, lollipops, sway bar endlinks so far. I've also ordered motor mounts and transmission mounts and a shifter rebuild kit. I will also want to do a shifter detent rebuild and maybe a clutch before the spring HPDE, but that of course requires pulling the transmission and I would like to do that once I get a lift put in my garage. Still working towards getting that done, so trying to manage funds a bit. Hoping to sell the 540it soon so I can cover some of that. It's going to be a fun car.

Oh, and I'm debating getting some track tires from discount tire direct on Ebay since they're doing a $100 off $400 with coupon code PTIRES18. Bridgestone RE71Rs in staggered 17" sizes are only $566 after the coupon is applied. Again, hard to spend that kind of money right off the bat. Only have until 10/28 though, so need to decide soon.

LOL. Yeah, E46Fans is... not real 'pro' crowd generally. But if you want some advice on comparing your ultrablue angel eye options... I used to post a bit there but rapidly reduced my activities to here and M3forums...

If you can exchange them, Z4M control arm bushings are a pretty nice plug and play upgrade for E46 non-Ms. Offset and solid rubber instead of fluid filled.

Even though your car is not a ZHP, ZHPMafia is a decent forum for non-M stuff. Not very active nowadays though due to the small userbase.

You say that now but I foresee a serious motor swap...

Hmm, good to know on the control arm bushings. I'll see about exchanging them. I bought them on FCP, so don't see a problem doing that.

I actually tried to join ZHPMafia a while back as a vendor and they were going to charge a pretty high price, so I passed, but I would consider signing up again now that I have an e46. Thanks!

I would say that unless the M54 dies, I don't see much need for swapping. Supercharger one day, maybe.

Those are the ones - can be pressed into your existing lollipops. Alternatively you can buy them pre-pressed into new lollipops. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...z4-31107836862 and https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...z4-31107836863

Yeah, I saw those with the lollipops, but that's a significant price increase. I have a press, I can swap them easy enough.

Yep, should be fine if you have your own press. The bracket has an ID of 66mm regardless, so it'll fit. Just make sure you line them up properly (arrow pointing towards the bump)

    Hey guys,

I finally got the GoPro videos from my last 2 sessions at VIR. These were my first solo sessions in B group and I think they went pretty well.

Also, in other news, I did a bunch of work on the 330Ci today. We changed the front control arms and bushings with ZHP parts, sway bar endlinks, motor mounts, the thermal oil level sensor, and did an oil change. It was a long day, but after the test drive, it was well worth it as the car drives so much better. The control arm bushings were totally shot and one of the ball joints was as well. No more clunks when coming to a stop and no more shaking under braking.

Also, I am thinking about putting a build thread for the 330Ci in the OT section in here. I've seen others do that, so look for it soon.

    Hey guys,

Haven't done much on the M5 lately, but this afternoon, I did finally put some finishing touches on the outside cosmetics:

It's subtle, but now, at least it looks complete on the outside.

I’m surprised you still are finding things left to do on that car still. I can’t imagine anything being untouched. Did you spend much time on track this summer?
Btw I’ll pm you, I have a couple seattle guys who need cluster work if you’re up for it

    Hey man! Long time!

Yeah, a few things here and there, but not much. I only did the fall VIR HPDE this year, but doing an autocross at the BMW performance center at the end of the month.

After the autocross, I'll be changing out my springs for the softer ones I got from Ground Control. After that, it's basically just maintaining it.

    Sure, send them my way

Hello everyone! Been a long time since I've updated the thread on my "M5", but not a whole lot has changed on the car since the last one. I've done several track events with the car since, although only one during the pandemic in 2021 at Road Atlanta. The car has been doing great and I've really just been maintaining it. Regular oil changes with oil analysis have shown the engine is still quite healthy at about 88k miles. The chassis has now reached over 242k miles and is still holding up well. Probably due for another suspension refresh in the near future, but mostly just the rear.

What I have done was to get rid of the UUC Evo3 shifter and DSSR in favor of the stock rod with e60 shifter and I'm so much happier for it. I used to have quite a bit of slop in the shifter and I always thought it couldn't be the UUC with the bearings and DSSR and such, but since switching to the e60, it feels so much better. Go figure.

I've also done the subframe bushings in the rear, which not in horrible shape, but definitely got rid of a shimmy I had in the rear forever.

The last thing that I've done recently is to finally upgrade the brakes to something serious and hopefully much better on the track. I first did the e65 brake master cylinder upgrade and finally got around to changing the mid-lines in the engine bay with new stainless lines. And just recently, I decided to purchase the Epytec brake caliper adapters for front and rear Brembos for the E39. Sreten at M539Restorations helped me out a ton by buying them for me and shipping them from Germany as they apparently won't ship to the US due to some insurance liability or whatnot. Sreten is an awesome guy and I can't thank him enough. His videos are amazing if you haven't seen them. The adapters I got were for AMG C63S front 6 piston calipers and Porsche Panamera 4 piston rear calipers. The fronts use e60 M5 front rotors and the rears use e60 M5 rear rotors. The rotors are a bit pricey, but all in, I'm at about $3k for both axles with rotors and pads. So far, I've only installed the fronts as I wanted them for going to the Vintage this weekend, but after, I'll be repainting front and rears and putting new Brembo decals on.

    Here's a sneak peek:

I also got a set of e38 M-Pars that will be going on once I get them refinished and some front PS4Ss mounted.

That's it for now. I'll try to update as those things happen.
