I just bought a 2011 e89 3.5is. Why are there so few posts here on that model?

They are not necessarily targeted at enthusiasts and are a bit too expensive for most enthusiasts to own at this time. Limited aftermarket, not lots of people DIYing them yet... Ill own one eventually... Once they go down in price a bit

i completely understand.
my thoughts:
it's newer
less affordable
more computer controls
a "complete package" just like it is... have to change a lot to change anything
I sold my E89 a few months back, couldn't wait to get rid of that P.O.S! I've owned 38 BMWs and that was the only one I completely hated. It literally was in the shop more then on the road.
Bye-bye E89, don't let the door hit ya' in the ass on the way out!!

I also own a 2011 35is and love driving, and even just looking at, mine; but it's quite unusual for me to see another one on the road. And mine is pretty trouble-free, so I'm not online looking for problem analysis/diagnostics (knock on wood). I visit the forum once a month or so when I think about it. If I owned a MG or Triumph or I would spend all my time on a British-car forum, but my E89 runs great and I spend my spare time driving or on other things. The fact that I'm not here often doesn't mean I don't love mine, it means I'm enjoying it.
I agree with post above. Just not a lot to discuss. Most of these are low mileage and not in need of repair. The most research I have had to do is with battery registration and coding.
