It smells awful on pretty much every car without cats, except maybe electric cars and hydrogen cell cars for obvious reasons. On these cars, you also get staining on the rear bumper.
For mine, I got something similar to this randomly selected dual 2" in, 2.5" out cat to replace the OEM units when I got some cheap ebay headers.
Bought 2 front strut mounts, 2 rear shock mounts, the stupid gaskets, lock nuts for the struts, the brake switch, some wheels, tires for the wheels, and some other stupid trash.
I still have a long laundry list of stuff to do, like replace the top, fix the glovebox, fix the tabs for the glovebox on the dash, reinstall the wood trim on the upper center console bezel, use butyl rope to secure the trim piece over the I/C that apparently wasn't affixed the way Ford clips those parts on and I was stupid to think it would look like that, actually fasten down the door trim panel on the passenger side door, adjust the CSB preload, pull the diff cover and check backlash etc, replace all the transmission fluid with Dexron VI (Dex VI is backwards compatible with all automatic GM transmissions that use Dex III as long as they are made by GM; other applications using Dex III are SOL), replace the center brake hoses, replace the front lower ctrl arms, replace the flc-arm bushes again, replace rear subframe bushes and rtabs, do all 4 corners brakes, rebuild calipers, and by then I should be all good unless the obnoxious noises in the drivetrain involve rebuilding the diff or 4L30E because life is too hard.

OK I had to mention this. I did say that I got a new shifter. I didnt think it would make such a difference but it sure does. If yours is loose or sloppy spend the $84 plus it's shorter.
I bought yet ANOTHER Saab wagon. That makes for three in the household. It is another car which makes the Roadster stay nice.

Rebuilding my calipers... just got em back from the powdercoater. Had the carriers done too.
I filed the seam/flashing off the front of both to tidy them up a bit
I'm a bit jealous. I see this for sale from time to time but never at a price I'm comfortable with jumping on. I can also never find enough pictures of them installed to even know if I really like em... get em on and get some pics
Looking good. I like the choice to go with a clean gray color - certainly better than black or OEM without standing out too much since they are OEM brakes. Have you considered painting the "M" before throwing them on?

Thanks... Thats exactly my thoughts on the color. Still nice but doesnt stand out too much. Trying to decide what color to do the ///M logo... white, black, or silver... or perhaps lighter grey. Got a few days before the rebuild part arrive to decide.

Ended up doing just subtle black
I bought this,

and these
https://thayermotorsports.com/collec...vice-tools-new
also a new clutch and flywheel since I have no idea when mine was last changed and the car has over 160k miles on it. So might as well swap those while I have the trans out.
I also have a new slave cylinder, motor mounts, trans mounts, shifter bushings, oil pan gasket, Oil filter housing gasket, and fluids for all those corresponding items.

Thanks... Took a scan of the m logo on the caliper, traced in cad, scaled it, cut out on a vinyl cutter and used the vinyl as a reverse mask to paint with black laquer. I still have the file, I could cut a few more if anyone is interested, or send the file... pm if interested, I wouldnt charge so long as im not doing it for two dozen people
Finished up the install today 2000 Z3 @ 145100 sMiles, replaced the Oil Filter Housing (wouldn't hold oil - drain overnight) and Secondary Chain Tensioner (I broke), plus oil change & new Belts and Spark Plugs went on.
Sweet to have the VANOS working again and the Power Steering is buttery smooth, BIG kudos to Dr. Vanos and the Rack Doctor!
