New replacement window from ADM in Germany. I got it installed in about 45 minutes with no prior experience, or helpers, so there really wasn't any drama. Went for a test drive through an automatic car wash with no leaks

Yes those are stamped LTWs. Very expensive if not replicas. Those are the best e36 option for z3's no doubt. Ive seens some z3's on DS1's and im not a fan.
I just feel e36 wheels are too angular for the z3

Diff fluid is black again, so I picked up a couple quarts of amsoil extreme whatever gear oil plus a T194 that hopefully is the right license plate bulb because I didn't check.
While fiddling with the cooling fan and hoses, saw a squirrel eating a pear in our tree. Offered her another pear and she started smack-talking down at me. She pooped on my car this morning, too. No one told me squirrels are cheeky and rude. We didn't even have squirrels in this area 11 or so years ago, now we have those barky things all over the place and they harass me from the trees every time I work on the cars.
It has been a busy week for my little cutie (2002 Z3 3.0L Black exterior, red interior, extended leather), First, she got a new camshaft position sensor. Wow, did that improve performance. Installation was not bad. Resetting the "Service Engine Soon" light was easy. Then she had her passenger seat track bushings replaced. This was very successful using the "Loving Wife Test". (If LW is happy, then it passes the LWT). Then she got a new Kenwood KMM-BT518HD so she could sing better. Pretty cheap but it blows the drawers off the stock Blaupunkt. I had Crutchfield do the wiring harness. I have done a few harnesses, but for $20 I will never do them again. It is going to take a while before I figure out how to use all it's features. Now I notice that the sound outclasses the stock speakers. Need to wait on replacing the stock speakers (See LW).
Back end squeaks. My guess is rear suspension shocks, whatever. Know nothing about this. Will research.
Biggest issue is that there are spots everywhere. Can't see the spots in bright light. Paint is excellent. Someone said my clear coat is failing. What does one do about this? Waxing (including waxes with black in them) is a temporary fix - like two weeks. Any ideas? Or is this just as an aging beauty, she needs to wear more makeup?
If your clear coat is failing, if you want to fix it right you have to take the paint off completely and repaint.
You can try sanding off the bad clear and applying clearcoat rattle can of you're hopelessly, foolishly optimistic.
Ordered a diff rebuild kit from Thayer and a couple of needlessly nice tools. I will be ordering rear shocks if I can as well, because finding the preload has been... Fun.
Scored a set of Style 68 wheels for cheap on craigslist from someone 5 minutes from my house! They need a lot of TLC, I am going to try my luck doing a DIY wheel refinish based on some youtube videos. Below you can see one wheel cleaned and one not cleaned.

Got the starter installed - took all of 45 minutes, including 10 minutes of fiddling with a hose clamp that came off once the intake manifold was already installed back in place.
Seemed to have fixed the S54's no-start when hot issue. On the test drive though the EML came back on at one point accompanied with some very odd exhaust burbles and behavior. Almost starting to make me think it's time to look at catalytic converters... after that EML it sounded and behaved just like a car with a clogged cat... but the two shouldn't be related.
I'm hoping the EML was a result of a battery cable slightly loose. It threw a P1637 which usually goes to the front TPS and it might have been disturbed during the process, so I removed it, cleaned contacts, then re-tightened battery, no EML since... *crossing fingers*
This car has been a constant reminder of why people don't like to buy other people's swap projects. But to be honest I'd do it again... it's the only way someone like me can afford an S54 coupe

Not so much for the car, but for me...I ordered the appropriate 5-speed version to represent my '97 Z3:
Fresh set of NT01s, getting ready to restart track season as soon as the weather cools a bit
2001 Steel Gray MCoupe - 147,000 miles and owned since new. MCS 2WNR suspension, Hotchkiss swaybar, poly bushings all around, cat delete headers with custom tune, 3.73 LSD, and Clownshoe Motorsports rear subframe reinforcement.
2014 Porsche Cayman S / 2022 BMW X3M Competition / 2020 Ram Rebel
A New Shift knob
oval exhaust tip and Momo hub adapter arrived last night.

95 325i Sedan - Project #ebayE36
90 BMW 535i/5 - i should probably work on this again...
I put Tokico blue HP shocks (foxbody 5.0 mustang ones) on the rear of my Z3 because the ISC ones were just so horrible. Someone on here mentioned putting on Strange Engineering shocks that were for a 'Stang, and I felt like sinning.
Rides a lot better. I can't tell you how bad the ISC ones were. I still need to fix the interesting spring rates they chose for the Z3, but at least the shocks don't suck as bad.
Wind deflector. While I enjoy the wind swirling about my face, the wife doesn't appreciate it like I do.

- Kicker 40CWRT672 Sub
- 2 inch stubby antenna
- KYB rear gas shocks and shock mounts
- Z4 style kidney grills (Don't know how i feel about them yet)
- Drive & Accessory belts
- PS reservoir & Suction hose
- Magnetic oil drain plug
In my defense, i just bought the car and im only just beginning to work on it Next week im looking at some halos
bought/replaced seat bushings and installed euro style plate up front
Overhauled my differential. Did most everything right, except for the pinion seal DUUUH. During my blind installation of the seal with the whole differential in the vice on top of my toolbox, which required me to use a step stool to view, I must have damaged the seal spring. I hope that the spring, which I found on the magnetic fill plug (mangled), didn't murder anything during its trip.
Anyway, I ordered another pinion kit from Thayer and we'll find out how screwed I am or am not today or tomorrow.
Fresh set of rotors and carbotech pads with a good flush of SRF.
