Got a set of Pilot Super Sports, front control arms, bushings, power steering reservoir, and a fuel filter this week. I'm in the middle of replacing my front control arms and a few other things. Debating about ordering a new steering shaft or E30 steering flex disk while access is easier.
Traced my fuel trim woes to the Bremi MAF. That's what I get for giving them a chance, ha. I had the oem one fall inside the engine bay due to my addiction to moisturizing my hands with butter, and didn't feel it would be wise to throw another MAF at it when I had no way to test it.
Then I remembered my fiance's E39 has the same MAF.
I ordered a genuine Hyundai unit via E46 Fanatics advice in the same thread as the one that reminded me swapping with the other BMW was an option.
I also got new RTABs and ATF coming. Don't worry, I ignored everyone's recommendations because I like being miserable, confused, and frustrated.
Fan Delete setup...
I bought Ceramic pads, new rotors, and stoptech brake lines. Turns out I already have stainless lines installed on my car from a previous owner (probably should have looked at that last time I had the wheels off) But they haven't shipped my lines yet so I get to cancel that order and save some $$ for other needed mods!
Check your center lines, they may be rubber still.
My Z3 Steering has seen better days. Poor care from previous owners and also I hated how thin it felt in my hands. I decided to try out the cheapest fix possible: $8 DIY cover from amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PC0G07A...=3A3MG1Z3HSMHU. 90 minutes later came out pretty good!! I still need to tuck in the thread ends, but ran out of time.

I bought S52 timing tools, a rebuilt S52 VANOS, S52 camshaft position sensor and new throttle body boots and clamps for the S54. Going to get both of the coupes running at the same time for the first time in almost 8 months For the S52 I've replaced in the past 8 months all the rubber in the suspension, entire cooling system, VANOS, all engine gaskets except head gasket and tires. Sad thing is after doing all that I still can't help but think I'm going to sell it in a few months... I just don't drive it when I have the S54 in the garage. I think I'd rather have an S52 roadster and some cash in the pocket. But who knows... I also haven't driven it in awhile. Maybe my opinion will change once I drive it again.

It's the beginning of summer! New Lower control arm bushings, Pilot Super Sport A/S 3+ all around. Finally a new Gahh twillfast II top. The top looks really tight. The shop told me to leave it closed for a few days to stretch it. I used Paul's shop in Virginia Beach. .
Offset lollipops, engine mounts, trans mounts from condor.

2 02 sensors and a driver seat belt buckle to get rid of that airbag light!
New Condor 12mm subframe risers to adjust camber, worked fine. New Lemförder RTABs, rear sway links, and bavauto center stainless brake hoses. Rides much better now, but the correct ISC rear spring preload continues to evade me.
It's supposed to be 5mm preload, but I have too much bounce in back with 5mm preload. Probably going to go tckline springs and tckline koni shocks at this rate because ISC tech support seems not to understand what I'm asking. I don't think the product is bad, but the communication is either poor or tech support lacks the desire to actually help. I don't mind meeting halfway, but it feels like a refusal to make any attempt to tell me what I'm doing wrong.
Oh, and the two rear ABS sensors lost communication despite being plugged in and without visible wire damage all the way into the trunk, so I need to check for power at least and try cleaning them (the entire rear suspension was on the driveway during heavy rain and hail). I don't want to have to start checking continuity between the rear sensors and the ABS module. I don't enjoy having to check wires across such a large distance.

Today the Zed is receiving new rear Continental ExtremeContact DW 245/40-17s (on the new-to-me wheels shown below) and getting PA inspection completed.
This thing is new to me--should I expect to go through 4 rears for every 2 fronts?
I would expect a 2-to-1 ratio of wear front to rear. That's what I get with the previous generation Contis on my M Coupe, even though the rears are larger than the fronts. I put all four on at the same time, replaced the rears when they were pretty worn out, and it looks like I'll replace all four again sometime in the future.

Success!
After putting the rebuilt VANOS in last night with a friend, the S52 rumbled to life. Sounded awful at first, like a rod-knocking diesel, but after it had some time to let the oil circulate it quieted down into the smoothest S52 I've ever heard. Very pleased So now both my coupes are running! And in fact all my cars except my '72 bavaria are running. This is very unusual for me.

My new to me 2000 M developed a squeal from the belts. Pulled the fan, replaced both belts and the deflection pulley that had a squeaky bearing. She now purrs like a kitten and no more squeal.
Also ordered a 20-pin connector and cable so I can trouble shoot an Air Bag light that came on. downloaded the software and waiting for the cable.
