Looking for swap out advice on replacing my door/window rubber seals. 1988 325IC.

I am slowly updating my 325IC. Right now I need to source the window seals for the front and rear windows on both sides. The outside leather is cracked and leaks. I want to replace it before it allows water to enter and rust my door.

I am also looking for a newer interior. Front and Rear seats. Currently I have a black interior.
    Regards
    Tim

    Hello, and welcome!

There is a website we like to use for finding parts... realoem.com

Plug in the last 7 digits of your vin, and you'll be on your way to finding the part numbers for that weatherstripping in no time. Once you have the numbers, its just a matter of plugging them in to google and finding the lowest priced website.

As for the interior... Have you considered refinishing the interior you already have? Otherwise... I'd be looking in the for sale sections of this site as well as R3Vlimited.com

    Regards,
    Mike

Go to real OEM and look under the Body and Trim section. I am in the process of replacing some of my seals on my 1990 convertible as well. If, and I mean if, you could find these particular seals anywhere other than the dealership be very cautious. In refreshing an 87 M6 I found that with any rubber seals like doors, trunks, windows, etc... OEM BMW is the only way to go. Especially stay away from URO, total garbage IMHO.

Another hint if you don't already know it... My local BMW dealership gives a 20% discount if you are a BMW Car Club of America member.

For deeply discounted prices on original BMW parts, a number of dealers and other vendors have online stores. My current favorite is http://www.bmwdirectparts.com/

It's easiest to look up parts numbers on the sites like realoem and then use the search function on the store site.

These are not available as aftermarket parts although you can source them from non dealer online vendors now that BMW distributes through Worldpac.

when you look at the realoem drawing NOTE that the rear window seals that are behind the vertical glass separating seal are labeled "door". That is an error. Go by the physical position in the drawing not the description....so 7&9 for the drivers side.

How's that site on shipping costs? ECS tuning has free shipping now, and on my last three orders it has beaten my local dealer with my CCA discount.

Dealer list usually runs anywhere from 0-30% above MSRP. ECS usually is right about MSRP. Most E30 parts from that link are about 30% below MSRP. Shipping costs seem to be about actual cost and reasonable. They usually will not have the part in stock so don't order there if you're in a hurry. If ECS is beating your 20% off dealer price, your dealer is probably at the 30% above MSRP price level.

PN 13711726205 - OE intake boot
    MSRP $54.66
    ECS $46.76
    Your dealer approx list $70
Your 20% discount price $56 (so slightly above list)
bimmerdirect (huskerparts.com) $41.57 + shipping which is probably below $10 for the single part. So let's say $50 shipped. Usually comes either USPS or Fedex.

So in this case with free shipping for the single item, ECS comes out slightly ahead. But usually ECS prices are right around the BMW MSRP in which case bimmerdirect would have been the better deal.
