    1995 M3 Turbo Vs. FBO Ls1 GTO

A buddy of mine told me he knew a guy who hated BMWs and thought turbos were lame, so he arranged these pulls. Best out of 3, 60-125, $100 to the winner. Normally I don't race for money, but I was pretty confident I could get an easy W against a Ls1 GTO.

My 1995 M3 turbo running 12#(wg) for the intro pulls. And 18# for the two pulls with the GTO. I estimate 525-550whp at my high boost setting.

Rajicase positioned the camera to make the guy think he had a chance. Lol good kill Raj but definitely work on the camera angle.

    Thanks lol

I just really wanted to get a vid up with my new gopro. Unfortunately this wasn't a great race..

I have some much better and more fair races lined up in the near future hopefully. Specifically a 2016 dodge charger hellcat!!

I'm not so sure hellcats are generally overweight.

    Hellcat is stock.

Hope it's close! The dodge weighs about 4600lbs.

Who cares what it weighs? If it's an auto, it'll trap 124-125 every time, regardless of who is driving it.

You either have the steam to keep up with a 124 mile car, or you don't, whether it weighs 6k lbs or 2400.

125 is fast. Raji may be there. Around 500 rwhp in a 3200 lb E36 will give 125. Traction could be an issue for either car. Putting that kind of power down off the line is tricky on street tires, even drag radials if they are run at street pressure and not heated up.

Let us know how it goes.

Trap speed will show who would win a roll race.
That said, it maybe a close race. My old 35r 2.8 trapped 128 at the best, that was around 23-24. psi. Rajicase should be able to pull off 125-128 with 20+psi.

    Thanks man!

Anyone have some gopro tips to avoid that nasty rattling sound? The first clips it was mounted on the rear quarter window and it was awful. For the races it was moved to the roof. Made it better, but still a bit annoying.

    Woah woah woah !

I dont like racing for money and I repeatedly told this guy that. Even though I knew it would be an easy $100,I asked several times if we could just go race for fun. He wouldn't. I don't know what his deal was, but he brought this on himself LOL. I gave him so many opportunities not to have money on this. And eventually it pissed me off so I agreed. And I feel totally vindicated!

So technically it was like watching the skinny nerd with big glasses(me) getting fed up with being bullied and punching the bully square in the nose and knocking him out. And those are always fun to witness!

Nice runs, were you using the closed door version or open? The closed helps with wind noise, rattle in inside the casing.
