Well, that’s the result of a civilized world, scumbag lawyers know how to circumvent the ridiculous loopholes for these losers. Back home in the Philippines, we took care of them our way, you could make them disappear, or you could turn them over to the cops, after you were done with them. They try to do a lawsuit, well, you could make that disappear too. Third world country, sure, but sometimes was also a good thing. Sure, corruption was bad, but hey! Corruption is almost just as bad here in our “civilized” Republic too.

Nice car, but a 107 trap in a lightened car doesn't indicate a lot of "big power" happening. Full weight E39 540s with minor bolt-ons and such have trapped triple digits plenty of times.

The record trap on here is 120.4 or something in that range (in a full weight, daily commuting car), by Philly98540. That indicates that his average horsepower produced over the course of the quarter mile is probably over 150 more than yours. And that 150+ additional horsepower could be quite on the low side if your your weight reduction is significant.

Your car is still nice, I don't mean to say otherwise! It just isn't what this thread is about.

[EDIT:] Oh yeah, there is also a Swede I recently became aware of who is making some impressive power from his E39 540, with a pair of Holset HX35 turbos (IIRC). I have to dig up the info again, but I think what I found out is that since he switched to a stand alone, life has gotten good for him and he's trapping 124-ish. It's on a makeshift drag strip like they setup on airstrips and whatnot in Europe, but they still have a timing system, so if they measured things out correctly, it should be a valid number.

Here's a video where he shows the setup and divulges a lot of details in the comments. I'm not sure if I correctly identified him as a Swede...:

Is there a thread for what all is going on in your engine bay? Looks very sharp.

E39 V8 Big Power SC / Turbo DeadPool Tracker

Dang Tapatalk app! Posted a bit and went to edit and it removed everything

Anyways, im aware its not the fastest trap out there. Just wanted to share as even though its not high HP, it uses what it has very efficiently. I have maybe 200-300lbs in weight reduction and am still pulling a 12.7 1/4 mile on an uphill track(Fontana), which im happy as its effectively using what it has. Im sure she has more in her, but I had shifted purpose. I was more then happy to beat the brand new, professionally tested M5 times by a full half-second, considering she is still running the VF Supplied 7psi pulley and tune.

Edit: Also, the chassis and trans have well over 200k miles, 3 years/25k miles boosted and abused on a 150k mile engine without opening the engine(sans guides and Vanos), and she has been doing road course work in 100°F SoCal desert race tracks.

Thank you. I've mainly just posted throughout the "What did you do to your E39 today" thread, and the bulk of the info is on my IG Account @Seth_vfsc_540i.

Basic rundown is an M62tu running a VFE SCer with the Vortech V3 SC trim unit. 36# injectors, S/M62 headers with custom dual catless exhaust, Custom Air-Water Intercooler, E fan conversion, Dinan TB, M62NV manifold, Powdercoated Valve, Upper and Lower covers.

Yeah, it's a nice car, and up hill matters. But trap speed is what indicates how fast the car feels during acceleration. E.T. is highly dependent on the quality of the launch and the first 60 feet. 12.7 isn't bad for sure! But there again, weight reduction matters a lot.

Using the old school rule of thumb, 250 lbs is generally worth about 2.5 tenths, and 2.5mph in the trap.

Yeah im happy with it. Shes got enough umph to hit 150+ on the front straight at Autoclub Speedway. Can't wait to go back during Bimmerfest in May.

Hopefully before then I can get a tune done, but I've got so much going on with a new suspension set up, new wheels and tires, and much more. So we will see what happens. You cam bet that I'll be going back to the strip though once she's tuned.
