He's using the latter name. His reason being, "I forgot my password."

Please, do not add any LS swapped E39! The ratio of kool M62 build to LSx swaps is 1:infinity.

Exactly...last post from 4 months ago is about saving a few bucks on silicon hoses....not looking up, sadly...

She's up and going. Was just tires that it needed. Would start it up and idle/Rev it a few times a week
Got new front tires tho and have been driving it everyday. There's some nice twisties behind my house that I frequent
I just want to acknowledge this with a big F**K yeah! OP suckled out some good deets from a good build thats stilll going strong, sounds like.

Whats next WW? You're winning for uniqueness AND actually runningness, which is gaddam impressive.

Only completely sane, non sadomasochistic, budget-minded folk swap in LS motors. In Texas we call that "Buy once, cry once."

Here is another one from a while back. This one seemed promising considering this shop had built some potent E46 M3 turbo cars.

Yep I know him F2F.... He's super low key so he doesn't qualify for the list due to the 'declaration' clause. If you don't brag you don't make the list.

    I'm trying my best

In all seriousness, I still have a ways to go as far as sorting the chassis before an LS comes near it. If only T56s were easy to find

Friggin borderline agreed. But he seems to still be joking more than bragging.

But I got him on surveillance.

Huh... You know, looking back at the table, the ratio of smilie or thumbsup against failures and MIA isn't really that bad. Maybe the spectre of the deadpool will improve the situation some through higher motivation levels. Lol

Yeah but like I said in the write up - it was too painful to go back and find every jackass that declared he was superballar and was gonna knock out a TT M62TU in a week... Whereas the known-good-driving-cars are still around and everybody talks about them, so historically its under-repped on the fails a little bit.

Over a quarter of a year since this thread saw the light of day. Kind of sad that there is so little of this sort of activity going on around this forum... Seems like there should be more masochistic, self-loathing, gluttons for punishment around here than this indicates.

That was the dream. When I first came across and read thru bf I thought there was going to be cool builds happening all the time. We had RAVE34 , G.G.'s S/C wagon and of course plattus and his 4.6 wagon thread. ( I like wagons) I got sucked in with all the pretty pictures, knowing I could never make posts like that. But I loved my wagon and was going to put a 4.6 in it and do some performance mods to my sedan. So I joined.
Now I could probably name all twenty people that even have an interest in the dead pool, and the six people who might put something like I'm putting together on their car. So don't do it for money!
As far as self loathing and gluttonous, yeah I know. I bought a 540 to replace whatever Honda, Toyota ,Acura ,etc or other free car that served as a daily driver. To me this is an economical car to drive once you know its shortcomings.
But like most things, I can't leave it alone. More power, better brakes, better exhaust and suspension.
Maybe we need a separate dead pool sub forum to separate the whackos from the general population.

Over the years that I've owned my 540, there have been times that I used it as a normal car to drive where I wanted to go, and it was nice. I think I felt about it like you are describing that you feel about your car. But then what stops that feeling is whatever next goofy problem that pops up that turns out to be more difficult to fix than it should be, and with parts that are more expensive than they should be.

Ideally though, I would like to simplify my car somewhat, just keeping the features of it that I really like and use, and maybe in the process I can get it to where the goofy, random problems are minimized and I can just drive it some more, albeit with double the power. That would be nice.

Probably a good idea. At least a wackos only subforum, haha...

Does this thing need a 1 year anniversary freshening up? Seems like we have a couple or a few new guys working on builds, although they really are building it seems, and not just running their yaps!

But, you said you wanted to track success as well as the copious failures, GG.
