For about 6 years now there has been an offshoot of South East Sharkfest, very informal small gathering of e24 enthusiast meeting in the northeast for the "Idiotfest" This is not a "hey look at me and my perfect car".....but a gathering of people who are into cars and having fun in a wicked and dissipated way.....good food, good drink and a lot of BS, including burning furniture at a bonfire and shooting off professional grade fireworks in Mass that would get you more time than murder (man were they pissed, can't go back there!) and a hot pepper eating contest that almost put someone in the local ER one year. There is always a well plan aggressive drive on Saturday. It has always been by invitation, but everyone is welcome. All ages and backgrounds, people coming from as far as Montreal and as far south as Virginia, with everything from a broke student in a junker to a REAL Alpina. A small but rowdy crowd. This year for the first time it will be in the mountains of Va. as opposed to NY, Mass, or PA. The invite has been made, if interested look on the e24 bimmerforum for details.

You should go.....let the inner idiot lurking come out. Do you know Anita Patton from the Nation Chapter BMW CCA? She is one of the original group that started this.....A ghost pepper eating, serious wine drinking, Alpina driving, first class idiot from your part of the world.

The name rings a bell, I think I have met her, the Alpina thing definately makes me think so. It was a wrench fest meeting for a bunch of e24 folks in Frederick that I respectfully asked to crash with the 8er. Funny enough one of the guys there had worked on my CSi when he was a bmw tech...small world. I'll have to look into this thing...my interest has been peeked

I believe that person you met in Frederick who worked on your car in past years would be George Barber. Yes, he is one of the Idiots and will be there as well. Your 8 will not be the only one there if you go, I am leaving my 635 home this year and driving my 850. If you go, plan on sharing many drinks as that is how things go late into the evening. Our Canadian friend Taylor (co-founder head idiot) always brings some very potent and interesting beer from Montreal.
