Is there a dry-cell/AGM battery that will drop into the factory 850 battery mount? Optimas are great but have their funky custom mount system...maybe Odyssey has something that fits off the shelf?
AGM batteries from AutoZone fit fine.
I had to make custom mounts for the optima batteries in my e31.

My optimas going on 11 years, I just can't put acid near interior. Prior bad experience, The mounts did cost a bit but are far superior than oem.
The same in an engine bay too!
Acid corrosion is 100 percent preventable wth this technology

I put in an AGM from batteries Plus. Direct fit. I believe it was a GRP AGM 48. I went from using two batteries to one. It has been nearly a year now and nothing bad has happened. Others have said, "don't do it" but I did, and it seems to be just fine.
Yeah battery vapor corrosion is giving me bad dreams..maybe optima custom mount is best
I have a couple of these optima mounts for my offroad truck..may be overkill for the 8 but I think I'll see if it fits

12 month's later, still haven't swapped them, and now they're dead....
I'd really like to switch it over to a single AGM battery, direct fit but I'm not finding a good option yet.
Anyone know if a Group 49 (H8) will bolt in? Duracell's group 48 AGM battery looks to be a bit on low side with 70 amp/hours...looking for 75+ per wokke's recommendation in another thread.
Looks like Autozone's H8-AGM will fit. Will see.
I put a set of Bosch AGMs (H8 IIRC) in last year. Car can sit almost 8 weeks before it is too weak to crank.
What "thumbs up" really means
Yep the autozone h8 fits!!
