Does anyone see a Northeast 8 gathering happening in the future? Florida is a bit of a long haul for some of us.

The Midwest isn't a hotbed of 8er activity. Is it ok for us northerners to crash the party? If it helps, my wife is from Pensacola.

In the past we have had attendees from as far away as New Jersey and Texas, and everywhere in between. We say Southeast, but we encourage everyone who wants to come to come on! It is more like an East Coast 8 Fest, but Southeast 8 Gathering was the initial name.

Does anyone see a Northeast 8 gathering happening in the future? Florida is a bit of a long haul for some of us.

As Roger said, this IS the East Coast, Midwest gathering. It will draw folks from farther than you might think. Virginia to Florida? How about West Texas to Mt Dora?! 1100+ miles! I need to do a complete shake down on the TT if it's going. I don't think it got 400 miles on it last year. Trailer queen!
To all, this IS the event you will not want to miss. Roger and Marsha never cease to throw one of the best gatherings. A great time for a re-charge of humanity is what I always said. Don't miss this one. Jeff?- Y'all going??..... btw Linwood, Jeff will probably be coming from Maine! Virginia is a quick trip to the grocery store in our league!! Come join us. I have helped coordinate caravans across the country and am willing to volunteer again. The ride there is almost as much fun as the gathering. Notice I said "almost" Rog?!
If anyone reading this has never been, please take serious consideration and try to make it. You will have no regrets and meet some of the best people in the country. The cars bring us together, but the people make the event. -Greg

Traveling out of (and back into) Maine in March is problematic. I've run out of places to push snow with my truck in the Spring. So attempting to drive a lowered 8 with low-profile 18's is just inviting trouble. We have a saying up here: If you don't like the weather, wait a minute. Planning something that could blow-up just days before (or during) the event is frustrating so that's why I don't make this wonderful event. Sorry man!

Busy finalizing event plans. We hope to get the registration form out to everyone this week. Here is the event plan:

- Friday - Welcome event Friday Evening
- Saturday - Organized drive sponsored by the E31 Chapter out to Lunch, then back to Mount Dora for a Special New event!! Banquet Saturday Evening
- Sunday - Open/Drive Home

Wish I could make this, looks like a lot of fun. I even have a small studio apt in Daytona (I'm in CT). Maybe next time I will try to schedule for a long trip. But a Northeast gathering sounds like something we should try to put together. I would love to go somewhere where there are more than 3 8ers in the same place (been to dozens of local and semi-local shows in the last few years, but the most 8ers were 3 at a Halloween Hudson Valley chapter event 2 years ago).
