    Tire recommendations

Figured I would post here to get a little more traffic than the e21 subforum. I'm looking for more rear grip, rear steps out a little too often. Here's the current wheel and tire setup:

    Front: 16x7 ET11 w/ 205/55/16

    Rear: 16x8 ET24 w/ 225/50/16

The rear looks like it's able to stuff a lot more tire, but the front seems pretty flush. Heres a couple sideviews for reference.

What make and model of tire is on there currently? Can't tell with the close-up pics. Guessing you want something super sticky. I had Falken Azenis before, those were amazing but a set will only last you maybe 10, 20K miles depending on how you use them.

Yep, need to know the current tire. And what sort of lifespan you expect to get, since those are competing qualities. Had Nitto give me a set of NT05s once, man those were awesome. Lasted 15K glorious grippy miles. I suppose being in SF, cold weather performance is not an issue, unless you head up to Reno or Tahoe in the winter.

I actually sorted it all out. Tires in the first post were Yokohama A008R F: 205/55 R:225/50.

Tried on Toyo R888 F:225/50 R:245/50 but they were just a tad too tall so I settled on the R888's in slightly smaller sizing F:245/45 R:225/45.

Here are some crappy pictures of the final size.

Wait, you put wider tires on the front?

Crud. I meant F:225/45 and R:245/45. Sorry for the confusion.
