Ok, pretty sold on light smoked clears with amber bulbs now.
I must say, I think my favorite part is the interior. It's amazing how much nicer and more modern the interior feels with this color combo. Brian with Fibrenew did such an amazing job!!! Anyone in the NC area should look him up for any and all dye work!

I agree, from the pics the interior looks totally modern with that color combo.
How much hp do you think that motor is putting out now?

I am guessing about 450 or so at the tire.
Added the ESS decal to the carbon cover.

sorry if I missed it, but is that a late model iDrive controller? What function does that serve? neither the e38 nor the e39m5 had this. Curious about that, otherwise, one of the nicest e38s ever! I wish you would have done this to the estoril one you had...

PDR guy fixed all 8 minor door dings. There are about 5 small chips I am having fixed on Monday and then much of the car will be clear wrapped.
haven't logged in into the site for a long time and this is the first thread I click on, very impressive, great work, loving the e38, done proper !
Thanks!
The ARC-8's were always going to be temporary and I am happy to report I found the replacements. Similar design but like the ARC-8 on steroids. Going with BC Forged HB04 2 piece in 19x9.5 et 10 and 19x10 et5 in the dark brushed.
Given the several forums coverage of the build, I'm curious if any offers have been thrown at the OP and how much.
The number would be $75k for me to let it go. Just enough that no one will pay
Someone could build 2-3 identical cars for that price, many many more if they are willing to do the work themselves...
I just added up all my receipts so unlikely. But I don't want to sell anyway so everyone wins
I definitely did not mean to start that debate here. I was rather curious if any offers have been made so far. We all agree it's a good, quality build regardless of how much it could be sold/bought for.
One thing that I wish would be done is new high quality leather for those seats.
It's no problem. An M7 could be built for a reasonable cost but remember, my S62 is basically new and it was about 1/3 of my total budget.

Had all the chips touched up. About 15 or so in all. The Xpel clear wrap happens Friday. Having quite a bit of the car done. Full front bumper, hood, fenders, A pillars, mirrors, doors and rockers. The paint it just too nice and this will ensure no more chips.
I've been on here a long time and I truly mean this, there has never been a better build on BFC! Your attention to detail, OCD for defects (this is a good thing haha) and overall outlook on the exterior and the power mods is perfect. Great job man.
what process did they use for the chips? Drcolorchip? I need it done to my E36 M3 with 80k miles.
Wow, quite the compliment! Thank you!!
My wife let him in the garage to do it so I wasn't there. My dad was the one who referred the guy and he saw him do it a while back on his cars. He said he injects the paint with some sort of syringe.
Got my new plates and picked up the car after the Xpel clear wrap by capital Autobahn. They did an amazing job on the clear wrap. They didn't have enough time to finish the front bumper and the bottom of rear bumper sides but they did the whole hood, fenders, door bottoms, rockers, headlights, foglights, mirrors and A pillars.
MLB's Justin Verlander had his 911 there getting detailed too. Wicked ride!!

So the car has to go back to have the wrap finished then? Seems the front bumper would be one of the highly desireable panels...
Yeah but it's not a big deal. They didn't charge me anything and won't until it's done and I am satisfied. The issue was they use a program to cut panels on a plotter. The E38 was a bit old from when the film was harder and therefore wasn't wrapping all the way around. They will have to do it by hand. I had to have the car back by 4:30 because it's my son's birthday tomorrow. They wanted it until 6:30. No worries though. Great service, work and not to far from me. He told me it might not all be finished.
I hear ya, with how detail oriented this build has been I figured it'd be going back in short order to be finished! That's funny about the panels being plotter cut, one of my last tint jobs was done the same way to minimize wasted film.
