Fortunate to get a nice buyout from VW on our TDI and have the means to upgrade out DD to something fun..
Both the boss and have a good amount of track time in the old 911 so we appreciate handling dynamics. She liked the 07 328xi for a DD, I didn't like the heavy front, basically it was a pushing pig when I got serious about a quick drive. We have a 4wd for the bad weather and no commute.
Bought an S2000 while looking for a Boxster because it offers a great drive with Japanese piece of mind.
Took the same approach this time, but I suspect the Lexus Is,Infifniti Q etc lack that final 10% that the G37 lacked in '07.
RWD and stick points me back to the roundel but I need some advice/background as I start test driving.
The sensible retired old guy says I can have a lot of fun with the 330 but the lurking teenager says a 340i MT would be one badass ride with good occasional touring capabilities.
Comments/inputs on upkeep and general experiences appreciated

I know its modular now, but I also like the idea of an I6 , even if it's a turbo
Personally I am not a bit fan of the turbo 4 cylinders in the 3 series, they just don't feel that great. Given the choice between a turbo 6 or 4, I would do the 6 every time. If it was out of my price range I wouldn't mind going for the 4 cylinder it just wouldn't be my first choice.

A little closure here-
we found a CPO 2015 335i xdrive with a stick.
Loving it
