Shout out to my pops! He hooked up the fuel lines that were still hanging out after installing new fuel pump! Got fuel pressure back where I need it and man she sounds good!! Also got the rest of the carburetor that I was missing about 3/4 of an inch from wide open previously!!

Well I had a little bit of time today and took the monster out! So I was gonna make a nice video of a burnout so I got the tires nice and sticky. Went to light them up again and they grabbed!! All I know is I couldn't see the road anymore and then.......BAM, BAM, BAM........ broke the center support again . The torque in that thing is unreal! The broken parts are very real lol. Back to the driveshaft place again. This time a one piece is getting made and I won't have this issue again. 3rd time is enough.
Good news is fuel pressure stayed up and rear is doing great!! Gonna be a bit but I will update as soon as I have something new!

What's a single piece drive shaft gonna set you back?
Time and money. Prolly 12 bills at least?

No way!! I had both driveshafts at the moment cut and redone on both ends for under 300 total.
Guy told me single piece is easier to make and balance. They also have the pieces there. Less welding and everything I'm figuring around $500. Don't know for sure yet though.

I wonder why BMW chose to make the driveshaft a two-piece then... also, how much torque are you putting out?! The M5 makes like 400 ft/lb of torque and I don't see them snapping driveshafts every day.

I thought the same thing. Not sure what's going on.

I asked the same question when I had to replace my CSB and my understanding is that there's less vibration with two piece design.
7 series weren't designed to be rocket fast cars, but one piece driveshaft will eliminate the weak point you gots!
Well the first one was what looked like original. So I replaced that right away. The second one was not preloaded. Didn't really give it much thought and of course thrashed. This third one was preloaded and really saw some torque this go around and did t survive. So one piece it is.

Yes sir! It will eliminate the driveshaft and center support bearing as weak point. And one to the next weak point it is lol. I'm sure something else is going to give but hey that's the point of this build. End the end she will be rock solid. The E34 diff has proven to be rock solid so far though. Very impressed!
