Well.....old 540 head removed. Bought an E66 last weekend. And the radiator and new cam are good to go in the monster!
Here's a pic. And a video of the monster.

So....brief update. The monster has had a little neglect lately. Bought a house, 540 puked on me, X5 got a suspension refresh, bought a 760 and all the while took over at my job as GM. So, had the weekend off and decided to tinker a bit. The 760 is a whole new ball game for me. Never had a V12 and trying to sort out a few quarks. The 540 decided to puke literally a week after giving it to my Dad as a "gift". So, I'm trying to get that sorted out for him lol. The house I'm trying to flip in the next year so having a lot of work done. And just so everyone is aware, I would have never thought it, but my E53 4.8iS is proving to be a very reliable DD. So, she got a little needed maintenance this weekend too. Fresh plugs and oil. I put a roof and trunk spoiler on the monster this weekend and swapped radiators again. Also ran new temp. gauge inside and changed the oil in it again. Didn't get her out on the road. Need to run new trans cooler lines and put the front end back together. Hopefully next couple of weeks she will be on the road and I can finally post the infamous BURNOUT video!

You bought a 760li? You brave, brave man. That N73 engine looks like nothing short of a nightmare to work on, good luck! And polish the headlights while you're at it

Haha! Thank you and yes he headlights do need a little love. Haven't had to dig into anything mechanical wise. No leaks, codes, hard codes or any electronics not working. So far so good. And that N73 is a beast of an engine. Ridiculously smooth and sounds really nice on the high RPM's.

Another small video of her purring. Idle pretty much dialed in now. Gauges all functioning. Except the oil pressure gauge having a little snafoo with that one.

You have to pull the intakes to change plugs? What a Pita.

Well transmission is back in. Little issue with the cooler lines so didn’t get it out on the road this weekend but it’s in the very near future now!

Long time no talk guys! Just know she isn’t dead!! I’m going to post a video from her first show too! She sure did turn some heads. Interior not done. But the drivetrain is officially complete. No more breaking driveshafts or snapping cv axels in the rear haha!!

Me and my dad. We built this car from the ground up now. Started with a 2001 E38 that needed timing chain guides and now we have a “different” kind of E38.

Very nice. For those of us who have not followed this long thread, can you summarize what you have here? A 427 running off the original electronics?
