I will definitely be selling the M62 eventually. You can have first dibs since you are the first to ask.

Anyone know if I can fit a 265 on the front with 9.5 +22? Seems 255 is a hard size to get so limited selection. I think 245 is too stretched.

Yes, you can. It might rub a bit on the inside fender liner at full lock, depending on how wide the tire runs from the manufacturer. I had 265 super sports for a bit on my e38 with 19x9 et24 though.

That was an even rarer size. Ordered Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Position 255/40/19 and 285/35/19

Since you're doing the S62 swap I assume you're going to swap in the M5 LSD as well. Check with ChiefJimbo as not too long ago he had an entire 750il subframe which will have the rear sway mounts on it. He's in VA Beach and will probably let it go for cheap. Swap that in at the same time you do the LSD and not have to worry about welding in the rear sway bar retrofit kit.

I will check with him. I wouldn't go pick up though as I hate that drive so it may not be worth the effort. Trevor will be doing the M5 diff install along with the S62 swap and I can't imagine it's too much trouble to weld on the mounts but will talk with both just in case. Thanks for the tip!

Let me know if you need the uuc swaybar retrofit kit, I ended up getting a 750il subframe so I won't be using it.
A cheaper option for the LSD may be what I'm doing...

i got a 95 740 large case(210mm diff not the stubby 215 mm like in e39/8s) and I'm getting all the internals swapped from my extra e46 m3 3.62 LSD. Then obviously getting the driveshaft modded again. It will be a total of around $700 and I'll have the 3.62 ratio also, I feel that will be a better ratio for the larger tire size that e38s run. The 3.15 feels sluggish to me with the 6spd.

I may do that but have read that 3.62 is not ideal in the M5. I have the 3.62 in my touring/M5 diff and love it but totally different trans. I rarely ever use 6th. I have read plenty into that diff setup you mention and am definitely considering it.

I will keep you in mind on the UUC stuff since you actually have it in stock

Lol forsure, I'll keep you posted on the differential. I'm planning to have it done in a few weeks, hopfully if there is no interference/resistance

There won't be. It's a direct swap. The shims will be just fine. We checked mine for backlash and gear run out and it was perfectly in spec. A few of us have done them.

If Paul's car is going to the crusher have him drop the rear sub. It already has sway bar mounts welded on.

It might already be spoken for, but if it isn't, it can come with the front and rear UUC sway bars and bushings as well.

No, parting it out after I pull the engine and trans and put it in my 530i. Most of the car is spoken for already. Let me know if you want anything.

No bro, I crushed a parts car, used my wooden wheel to get it down my driveway, tow truck ruptured the gas tank as they were pulling it up onto the bed sans wheels, gas everywhere. I lost focus, forgot the wheel, wheel died... lost $150 of the best money I ever spent. All in an effort to get my alpine back on the road. Shm
