Finally ordered all 4 Turner monoball arms for the front.
The control arms arrived today. I have a cracked headlight lens and fog light so I think I will take the time to replace those while the car is down. My ac aux fan makes a little noise when I cut off the car every now and then so perfect time to do that as well.

Yeah, those part numbers I listed are OE sealed type bearings. Originally I was just going to use something teflon lined from FK or QA1 until I saw the Turners and few others using OE bearings. As a self proclaimed circle expert, my plan was to make just the bushing that you described.
That does appear to be the number that the Tuner monoballs use for the thrust arm. Prior to installation I did take the snap ring off and examine them a bit closer and they are indeed Lemforder ball joints and the numbers on the boot match up to the pictures shown on ECS for the 33326792553 part seen here:
https://www.ecstuning.com/b-lemforde...326792553~lem/
Here are a couple of pictures I took before I pressed them into the arms:
The numbers 030 060 004 012 03 can be seen on the rubber boots. Not sure that corresponds to but I guarantee those are the ball joints used.

Thanks for the close up pics! They do look really close to the same. I just searched real oem until i found a bearing that showed installation with a 14mm bolt for the thrust arms and then a 12mm bolt for the control arms. From the pics on their website, it looks like Turner used the same bearing for both arms and used bushings to make the 12mm control arm bolt fit in the 14mm bore bearing.
Its not very often these days i decide to build something instead of just buying it, so im excited to have me a little turning project soon.
Installed the Turner monoballs and was ready to drive last night but had forgotten I left the key in ignition to unlock steering which drained the battery so I will take the first drive when I get home. I plan to get it aligned soon too.
If you left it for extended period. I just left the key in for 2 hours. Still has power just not enough to start. Happens every now and then from sitting for weeks at a time when I don't drive it. I've had the same issue with all the BMW's I've owned.

Aha!^
I drove the car. Monoballs feel great. Definitely a solid 10-15% increase in NVH most notably over bumps and just feeling the road in general but certainly not bothersome. Steering feels sharper and more precise and even turning the wheel while static feels different than before. It still feels like I have the subtle vibration after a short drive but I won't really know until I drive it to work. If it remains, I will do center drag link and tie rods next. Then wheel bearings if that doesn't take care of it. I already had the wheels re-balanced.
Ive battled the control arms since 2005. I did the PowerFlex bushings on my former E38, the wheel would nearly jerk out of my hand on some harsh bumps. So I just reverted back to 750 bushings. I may go for the protection bushings next time, IIRC they are different. Been a few years since I dove into that info. X5 bushings are also the same size. There may be zero difference in 740/750/750 Protection, but ill have to look. I always think in terms of dominoes, if the "shock" is removed from the arms, then the other parts will suffer the brunt. Some folks on BimmerBoard used to fill the holes in the OE bushings with RTV to firm them up, since its flexible its works on multiple levels. At the days end, it's individual driver preference.

I pushed the hell out of the car on riverside dr today which is the most amazing short stretch of local road. The car blows my mind. Hard to believe it's such a big heavy car. Loving these monoballs but did not fix the subtle vibration at highway speeds. Im going to get some new as3's put on the mpars for winter just to rule out a balance issue with the BC Forged wheels.

I seem to recall that I had a slight vibration when I installed the Apex or RD wheels as well.
I put a good amount of miles on the car today. I can tell you one thing for sure. If I had monorails and coilovers, I would hate the ride quality. I drove over a lot of different road conditions today and you can definitely notice the NVH with these over stock. Have to choose your battles though and I love the way the car handles now so still worth it.
Meh, that job is so easy though. And I have found that the last 3 times I replaced those arms in various BMW's I have owned, I didn't even need an alignment afterwards so then it just becomes a financial issue. But for the price of the monorails, you could buy a few sets of regular control arms.
Can anyone tell me the widest people are going on tires for mpars on our e38's? I plan to order some good all seasons today. Most likely the as3's.
I thought I recall some running 275 or even 285 on the rear.
