I need to know if they have a store or something, I need those yesterday.

But I wonder how much they cost...

I just bought an adaptive LED X5 headlight with a cracked lens and tab. I will try it out myself and see what happens. I am no stranger to headlight retrofits. I am just not sure what angel eyes he is using.

I am not so sure I will like LED better than a proper projector with Osram CBI, CBS or CBB bulb but since I am ready to do a retrofit and those do look mighty awesome on the E38, I think it's worth trying. I may even buy a spare E38 light to do it with. I rarely drive my car at night so having a better looking light while off is more appealing than the coolest cutoff pattern at night to me.

Bought a used 01 headlight for $47 off eBay with scratched lens. Perfect for me to do the retrofit without any downtime on the car.

Pretty sure it's these so I went ahead and bought a set. Seems to be commonly called cotton white angel eye rings.

Pulled the spare light apart. I love the design of these lights and they are clearly the easiest lights in the history of all lights to disassemble. It was like they were made for retrofits!

I have no idea how the guys in Russia made these work. It's going to take some engineering and will need some custom brackets made. I've got nothing to lose though so we will see what happens with this first set. Definitely won't be keeping the adaptive features. That would take many many hours and access to 3d printers and/or CNC parts.

Nice! I just added these to my list for my other E38...noting the cotton white, the look so clean and bright.

Same here! One of my current COB LED ones went out and if it is not a wiring issue they will be replaced with these cotton white ones...

I am not so sure I am going to do this retrofit. The way these things mount with the cooling fans is a little crazy. I don't think it's worth the effort honestly so I need to decide whether to get the guy in Russia to do it with an extra set of lights or just do the proven Morimoto Mini D2S 4.0 with Osram CBB bulbs.

is the MM D2S with the CBB bulbs a upgrade over a E55 with CBI's? or is it roughly the same thing.

I talked with the owner of retrofit source and he says the MM 4.0 is the best 3" projector on the market in his opinion. CBB has more output than the CBI. They did a LUX comparison and although the color never really changed in the CB series, the LUX improves with each bulb. However, the CBB is rated for off road use only.

For the sake of time, I think I am going to go with the MM 4.0 with CBB and add the cotton white AE's. I am also going to look into an LED replacement for the high beam and will basically have 4 high beams with the MM's. I want improved lighting but my Nissan project is taking all my real spare garage time.

Had a magazine photo shoot today. Can't wait because the location was sick!

On the way home I pulled up next to a guy in an orange 16'ish Camaro SS with his girl. I saw him eye my brakes and I knew we were about to go. Light turns green and we both nailed it. I pulled on him the whole time up to 80 or so. Then we hit the brakes and a short bit later did a rolling start at 45 or so. I took him again! Was very impressed with the M7!
