Sorry if you already explained it, but what ET are those wheels and what spacers you have?

    great article. awesome vehicle.
    Question regarding this

"I just won’t drive it in the rain or if it’s below 50 degrees"

I get the not in the rain aspect, but why the 50 degree limit? Summer only Tires?

also, based on pics on page 103, I think you are missing the OEM door handle torx screw cover on your passenger rear door. :-)

I should have said 40. I just don't like having the car exposed to extreme cold because things get brittle. I keep it in a climate controlled garage.

    You are correct

I have been driving the car more lately and I really missed the experience. A mixture of things has caused it to just sit in the climate controlled garage including a magazine photoshoot that still hasn't happened (wanted to keep the car spotless) and my work commute which seems to be full of traffic and texting drivers. I have thrown caution to the wind and decided to start enjoying the car more and very glad I did. I still haven't installed the smaller supercharger pulley and I have not had my friend do the muffler delete yet either. I have a feeling once both of those things happen, further down the rabbit hole I will go..

Muffler delete? I took your advice and installed Borla XR-1s (love em) after trying the muffler delete (hated it) on my '01 740i Sport.

    Which xr1 did you get?

why didn’t you like the straight pipes? Too loud? I may well buy some tips because I want extra volume, but no droning.

Borla model 40941. Too much resonance in the 30-50mph range with the straight pipes. Made me physically ill.

ive driven one with straight pipes and a jaguar resonator. No major droning at all, surprisingly tolerable. Still a little louder than I would like.

At interstate speeds it was fine. I do a lot of rural back-road driving and at those speeds it was awful.

I installed the new smaller 92mm supercharger pulley and the new coolant reservoir. Noticeable increase in performance!

Hahaha, I have briefcases but they're all in the red right now :P

Seriously, without your car I probably wouldn't spend half the cash on this one that I do. Don't know if I should say THANKS or be upset with you!

Drove it some more this morning. So much more fun to drive with the smaller pulley!! Tempted to get it tuned now. I need to get the mufflers removed soon as well. I am really ready for some decent exhaust notes. My friends M5 with just muffler delete is the best sounding S62 car I have heard. Even better than Eisenmann to me and much cheaper too

I've given up on buying name brand mufflers. For $0 you can sometimes get a much better note AND save weight.

Would have thought smaller pulley meant less psi?

Larger crank pulley or smaller supercharger pulley adds more boost/power.

Smaller pulley spins faster, more spins more boost
