Amazing !!!
I've been driving the car a lot more lately and I think my subtle vibration issue is actually flat spots on the soft tires. It would have more vibration when I let it sit. When I daily it, it almost completely goes away. So it seems. I still plan to install monoballs, check out the bearings and check all wearables but I think I'm onto something.
Do you ever venture out to Charlottesville? Would love to see your car in person some day.

I don't. Ever come to Richmond?
Darn. And nope, Short Pump is closest I've gone (except the Zoo with kids).
I've got a buddy with Z4 M coupe in Richmond but I haven't seen/talked to him in ages

I go to Short Pump fairly often.
Love this edited version of a pic I took a few weeks ago.

I've been contemplating trading her out for an F10 M5 lately.
Hehe u get easily bored but I wouldn’t trade it esp on the m5.
Been looking back the last 4 pages on my annual scan of this thread.
Couple of things I found with playing with my own vortech bmw v8
firstly when going smaller pulley on the ess kit it’s certainly worth investigating using an 8 rib setup. There is enough room on the 140mm crank pulley to have some extra ribs machined. Going from 6 to 8rib eliminates the phantom slip. I went from 10 to 13 psi @ 7000rpm with no pulley dia change. U may be able to up the fuel pressure slighly to accomodate.
Secondly the exhaust change is not easy to find the balance between flow, noise, and quality. Ideally you will need a min of dual 2.5” but the note can get very bassey at low rpm due to the velocity drop. To gain that nice high end sounding v8 scream some sub resonator chambers above the rear muffler slotted to the body of the main muffler work wonders in lifting the quality of the sound especially at cruising rpm. The quality aftermarket exhaust spike the supersprint and eiesenman (spelling?) are designed for NA and have prob not the dia for the force fed s62. They will sound great and really scream at high tho due to the high velocity.
Love your work so far and don’t sell this beast. Just keep developing it.

That's pretty much where I am at. Either I kind of go a little crazy (er more crazy) or upgrade.
There is so much more left in it power wise. Intercooling , 8pk, bigger crank pulley and programmable management. With the nature of centrifugal supercharger can’t see why u can’t run 18psi with pump fuel. Add e85 and flex fuel capable engine management and u will turn a solid performance car into a complete animal.

Talked to the wifey and she would prefer I get an F80 to an F10 if I ever did sell. But I am going to try and hold out and eventually have both. The F80 prices will likely drop even further when the new M3/4 comes out.
There is something I just don’t quite like about the f80 m3/4. They look sexy but every juiced up one I hear on the street just sounds abit crappy. F90 m5 is more my go except for the bank balance.
Id have a look at installing a wideband and adjustable fuel pressure reg (with gauge). You will be amazed at the extra drivability u can get by small fuel pressure adjustments. Not only that u can see how safe the tune is.
Ive just installed today an AEM failsafe gauge with ethanol content metering and boost all in one gauge. Much easier to read display rather than the pocket calculator numbers of the old gauge. This will be of major benifits if you start powering it up a little. It’s abit addictive now I can see how the turbo guys keep developing their setups all the time.

Anyone ever find or receive a resolution on the airbag recall issue? My E46 wheel and bag were purchased from a reseller and I haven't gone to the dealer to find out either.

I've had enough time to mull it over and I'm absolutely keeping my e38.
Good choice. If you're not going for the Ferrari, stick with the E38.
Good choice! It’s a beautiful build man!

Driving home from work today in left lane. Car in front of me goes to pass the vehicle in front of it. Turns out that was a slow driving truck hauling a trailer full of concrete mixing crap. As soon as the car goes to pass, a chunk of concrete nails my windshield. $1500 for a replacement... Guess I should feel lucky it didn't hit the A pillar.
That car needs a forcefield built around it. Could have been worse...

I know! It makes is stressful to own sometimes. I had to park it on the street today while at lunch with a client and I went to check on it 3 times My wife told me I shouldn't even drive it to work but it's the most enjoyable part of my day when I do. If I don't drive it, what would be the point of having it?
I don't know who your carrier is, but I have Hagerty and they are really really good people, and they understand car people.
The heck is the glass made of that it's $1500 to replace? Diamonds?!

It's because it has the UV/IR glass. Which I love so I'd never cheap out on the replacement.
