I figure it's time to start a new thread as I am no longer looking for that estoril car. Still not ready to post what I got yet because I want to use my photos only but I will start with what parts will be going on/in the 01 740i M sport. I will update with info and photos of the car sometime this weekend.
Put a deposit on a used front Brembo GT BBK from Jeremy Whittle. He will ship after his final photo shoot with the Stanceworks E38. 355x32mm 2 piece rotors with 4 pot calipers. Same kit as on my touring except front only on the E38.
Getting H&R II springs, 750il upper/lower dash front door cards and center console, round airbag wheel, 6 speed swap parts, M5 cluster and some various other items from Paul
NBT kit with touch pad will be ordered this eve or tomorrow morning
Going with Apex ARC-8 wheels to start after seeing .Tom.'s amazing Imola sport. The plan is to swap the touring wheels to the E38 and get some new 3 piece for the touring
Ordered an Alpina lip from Poland
Tentatively scheduled Xpel clear wrap for the entire hood, bumper, fender, lights, mirrors, rockers and A pillars in the next 2-3 weeks after the Alpina lip has the letters sanded and then painted/installed
Adam is on the hunt for a 50-80k mile S62/6 speed combo. I plan on doing some new gaskets and new cam position sensors before install

Stoked to see what you have in store. Will you be doing the engine swap yourself, or are you going to let Trevor handle the dirty work?

Don't worry, gang. I brought enough for everyone.

The AMG just didn't quite do it for me. I prefer built over bought but tried to drive a stock car. And it was the most amazing stock car I have ever owned.
Paul and Brian (Redshift) will have their hands full first. Trevor will be busy when I get the right S62/6 speed. I plan to get the good guys to do much of the bulk work because I think my wife, 3.5 yr old son and 16 yr old step-daughter need my time more than a project right now. The wagon has taken quite a bit of time. But the car will be in good hands. I will be doing a fair amount of work eventually but will let the guys who have more experience than I tackle the main stuff to get it started.
Very much looking forward to updating more. I am more excited about this than any other car I have done yet. Including the wagon, E34 and 510.

What will you do about the hub bore on the APEX wheels for the e38? Very excited to see the outcome!
I am talking to a guy about buying the ones of my touring as I would prefer silver finish. However, I may just have them redone and use hubcentric rings depending on how much I can get for the touring wheels and whether my wheel sponsorship deal for the touring happens.
Awesome! Excited to see what you got.

Why the switch from coilovers to H&R springs?
Spaceships & Woodgrain.
Because the E38 will be my daily driver for nice weather. Truck will be bad weather daily. After talking with Brian and driving Paul's car 1 or 2 years ago, I am convinced the springs will be better suited for my 45 min commute.

Your posts always crack me up, Dennis

Just ordered the NBT kit with the 6 speed console panel bare so I can figure out how to finish it.
Can't wait to see this build! Man I wish I was closer to you guys so I could just drop my car off at your secret deathbase for an S62 I'm really not looking forward to diy'n myself haha
Same here. There are some fantastic E38's out here on the East Coast and yours would really round the group off. I can't wait to go to the next E38 meet up North.

I want to say it's in NOVA but part of me also thinks it might be PA. I have never been. I believe Chris V organizes it.
Look forward to some updates
Baltimore area for the next one. The last one was PA, but the one in October will be near my house (with some nice backroads to drive before a late lunch). But you probably wont' be ready until Spring, which is going to be the meet after that.

. Photos will come very soon.
Here are some photos of the brakes at least.. My biggest complaint with my previous 740 was the brakes compared to the M5. Hopefully this will improve that. Will go with 750 rear brakes with drilled rotors to try and match as well.

Haha, only problem is that pesky 5k+ miles to get there and back.
I agree that the brakes aren't ideal on these cars, especially when driven "spiritedly" down a mountain. I originally was going to use the 750il brakes, but think I'm gonna copy you and get something with a little more stoping power!
plus you can't beat the look
Subscribed Brandon! Wondering if I'll see the photos faster on IG or BF.C hahah
