I know that they were delayed in getting EPA approval, but it finally came. The salesman at a dealership told me they aren't going to sell any 2017 diesels.
Does anyone have more information one way or another?
Yes, I had seen an announcement saying they received certification. I mentioned it to the dealer, who may not have known, and may not care. He is the one that said they are not going to sell any '17 diesels.
Perhaps is it just because they were not taking any orders, or planning any production until they got the certification?
The last thing I want to hear is that they won't sell any here, because I am looking forward to picking one up cheap in a year or two. If there are no '17s it might raise the price of the '16s. (I'd really like to have adaptive LEDs.)
They have the 3-Series diesels listed...

I checked the 5-series, but they are only listing 2016 and I get a pop-up warning as well:
