I am particularly interested in how this turns out, considering the mismatched dash colors in mt Coupe.
Sunday I competed in Ironman Chattanooga so now that is finally out of the way and I can focus on the M. I finally had time to get my dash done today. I think it looks great. I spent a decent amount of time wet sanding with a few different grit sand papers. Finished up with a 2000 grit to keep a more satin finish. I also did my visors and top trim piece along with the Apilars. It all looks stock. Hopefully it will hold up well. I am onto refurbing my center console now. It is pretty worn so this might be a tough task.

I've actually toyed with the idea of replacing my contrasting center plastic with brushed aluminium. My only concern with that is glare.

Turned out nice, looks especially good without the bare feet...
I made an effort to edit my feet out of these photos. haha
Thanks.
I am excited to get the car back together. Just need to figure out what I am going to do with my center console. The leather up front on the passenger side is coming up and the blue leather is pretty weathered. I may get one of those leather patching kits to fill in the little nicks in the leather before dyeing it black.

Got some more done on the interior.

Died the console trim and console black along with using dash paint on the console trim parts. Everything was blue before.

You did an impressive amount of work. I've had my whole interior out, from the sealing strip of the top forward to the lower dash panels, but stopped at the upper dash. You have my admiration. The paint looks great.
Questions: If you have a 98 M Roadster, why is there a DSC button? Were they an addition late in the 98 build year? I have a June car. Second, what did you do with your seat heater buttons?

That's very neat! Great job, looking forward to more updates.
Bringing this thread back from the dead - it was the closest I found to someone who had successfully re-painted their dash and trim pieces. I'd be interested if pure paint/matte finish matches the stock look - as i agree with what someone else mentioned that it looks like a high end plasti-dip vs. painting.
That car is long gone unfortunately. It was parted out then the body went to repair someone who had crashed theirs. I would use the best quality paint you can find. Do not plastidip anything. I built an RX7 back in 2007 and I plastidipped some parts to make them look better. Well now in 2020 that car is back in my life and that plastidip looks like shit and is a pain in the butt to remove. I would do as much research as possible on paints that have proven to do well in these circumstances. My paint job held up for a year or two for sure. I sold the pods and ended up trashing the dash because no one wanted to buy it and it was taking up space. So I don't have any long term data on how the paint held up.
