This is BMW's on-line WebETK. When you get there, plug in the last 7 of your VIN. It's the real deal.

Apologies; I was trying a short cut. Try it this way...
1. https://www.parts.bmwgroup.com/
2. Click on ASAP "After Sales Assistance Portal"
3. You should see a login area, use this for the identification box: eu111111
4. This is the password: bmwetk1
5. Then click logon
Give this a shot. It's how I got in the first time and I just did it again to write this post.
Let me know if you have any more problems.

It worked shortly after you posted it, now the original link is expired.
The second link with passwords gets you in a little, but I think "they" already invalidated that code.
I'm assuming this is an official BMW portal that is supposed to be accessed by paying BMW affiliates. Any public posting of passwords will cause them to be negated and is in violation of the password's owners terms of use agreement.

Hmmm..... this exact information was posted on a different BMW forum back in 2011, with almost identical results. Links were posted, but no one else were successful using them.
Interesting. Worked for me yesterday.
Ah...I do remember this site from back a few years. Sometimes it works for me, but most times it doesn't.
But since we are sharing helpful sites...I ran across one serendipitously last week. On one of the X5 forums, someone had wrote that Realoem would decode VINs. That was news to me, because I use that site just about everyday and didn't recall seeing a VIN decode option (yes, it will reveal your build date if you enter the last 7 digits of your VIN)...but I never saw the entire build sheet option code like some of the other VIN decoding sites (like BMW.work & BMWvin.com).
So a few days later...I just happened to cruise over to he e70 X5 forum to see what was happening...and someone posted a link to this site that not only allowed you to look up diagrams and part nbrs like Realoem.com...but also had a button at the top left of the page to decode your VIN...just like the other VIN decoding sites. (my thoughts were...SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!).
So it's like an all-in-one look for parts & decode your VIN especially if you need to reference option codes that can sometimes be found in the supplemental columns. Here's a direct link to that site in case anyone wants to add it to their favorites/bookmarks...it's another great source: www.ETK.cc

Here's something really interesting. I just tried the BMW WebETK site again and it's working fine. Don't know what's going on, but it does seem to be working.
If you do get into it, click the Help button at the top of the page and then click options, it will give you a list of every option on the planet with it's codes.
Sorry guys

I just came across this one from the FCP reference you gave.

I've run across that before when on a web search I seemed to wander into the middle of a normally closed portal in BMW land. Some interesting things, but nothing over the top that I've seen. And if I went to the beginning I couldn't get back in. Nothing interesting enough I bothered to save the link.

I just logged and used it. IMHO the ETK.cc or Realoem works better...

The funny thing about the parts.bmwgroup page is that sometimes people from other countries use it and change the language and market settings, which makes it fun having to find those to change back to US English. As others have said, the other sites do tend to work better. I have run across some VINs that some sites don't have, including the BMW page, but others do, so who knows. I typically use the bmwvin.com for VIN decoding since it's usually the quickest (less captcha crap for the most part) and realOEM for parts searches. I also have a copy of BMW ETK running on my computer that works as well, but that is typically for things like spring matrices and such.

Ditto...but this past week (since I ran across the www.etk.cc site...I've found it to be easy to use and you have both the VIN decode and part database info all on one site. Two birds, one stone.
The CAPTCHA at the link above only asks you to identify one symbol and the last 7 of the VIN...hit the submit button and BINGO...you have the option code list. Then if you need to look up a part...just click on the part database link (based on the VIN you've just looked up)...and all the option codes you need will be available...especially if you open in a new tab.
Give it a try especially if you're looking up both the VIN for options, and the part database for parts.
