I guess I'm not the only one at a loss from that post, huh? Haha
You wrote these ridiculous mini-novellas arguing against the fact that Sean's kit makes steering faster.
And here you are selling a kit that you advertise quicker steering, second only to it inexplicably glowing in the dark.
Other than that, though, I read through the post, is there any means of using these with a stock E46 balljoint/arm? I don't recall the specifics.
angle kits inherently change how far the wheels move per turn of the steering wheel (i.e. speed), but not the total number of times you can turn the steering wheel (i.e. X turns lock-to-lock). unless they incorporate some sort of bumpstop into the kit or you wind up with some gnarly wheel clearance issues
they'll bolt on to e46 arms just fine, but unless they're the early model arms i don't see much point in using them. any frame clearance the newer ones give you is offset heavily by their lack of arm clearance

E46 arms on E36s will give you something. Without a longer arm, you hit the frame before you hit the control arm. So the E46 arm will push things out so now you can hit the control arm! Which is still MUCH better than stock.

find someone to cut and weld them longer I suppose

Damn, I didn't realize the control arms would need lengthening for these to work... So with stock length arms you get quicker steering, bump steer correction, and reduced ackerman, but no extra angle, huh?
I wouldn't say NO extra angle. You get as much as your car physically allows before you hit something. Jalopi (dave) can show you where to get limiters so you can lock your tie rods before you hit your frame. E30s have very little space but E36s should be able to get more. Just not ALL of the angle.
This kit is designed as a "Starter" set. You put it on, get what you can get, then get better control arms later.
IMO E46 control arms will help you get more angle. But depending on a lot of things, you'll hit the control arm before you hit the frame.

i'd been trying to source early e46 arms for the past year with no luck, which is why i'm on stock arms still. there's a 99 3 series at the local yard so i might go in and check if it still has the original arms on it.

aaah just go with the aluminum ones. Is there literal proof you hit the control arm with the angle blocks?

idk. just read on driftworks about people hitting with the redesign models. although i'm not sure how the blocks would affect that.

I barely touch the late e46 arm with my angle kit (pretty much same same) at full lock with a 17x8 +13 wheel. Meanwhile I was rubbing frame rail with stock control arms and rack spacers with a 17x7+20 wheel. With stock lca and this kit I'm sure you'll hit real soon with a stock/ higher offset wheel
i have only one good thing to say about the updated e46 arms, and it's that they're better for your tires (only if you're stretched a bit). because if you have angle mods, in most cases the wheel WILL hit the arm before the tire hits the frame. even if you have cheap wheels, the wheel will outlast the arm... the arm basically becomes a consumable. this is the kind of gouging my arms experienced from the two-ish years' worth of events i completed with the v8 e30, plus some street driving (though street driving wasn't anywhere near full lock, so that's not a real factor)
the red circles are from 16x8 et0 XXR 513 wheels, the green ones are from 17x8.25 et-5 XXR 535 wheels

holy crap that's bad... but a weird place to crack. maybe it's just the paint?

looks like that's just paint cracking to me lol but back to rubbing on the e46 LCAs... wouldn't huuuuuge wheel spacers help? im running 40mm spacers and ET20 wheels just to clear at full lock on my slr kit. and thats with baby 215/40's on an 8 inch wide wheel.
yup they will, but it's a tradeoff, you might wind up hitting the front/back of the fenders and/or wheel wells with humongo spacers. you can hack away at fenders all day, but dealing with the wells is a bit trickier

I run 215/40s on a 17. something like a -20 total offset on an 8 wide lol.
Status: Someone put glitter in my oil. Wait. Why's all my oil outside the engine? What's that knocking?
Im running 245/40r17 on 17x8 et20 wheels paired with 35mm spacers. I clear my frame just barely (would rub sway bar if I had one) and I rub on my SLR Ultra arms actually.
Whelp i finished making two sets of control arms
Unfortunately, neither is for sale, one set is for my car and the other is for a friend
They do have glow paint, but it was dark when I got home so they weren't glowing very bright during my "photoshoot". I'll let em charge up this afternoon and snap some pix
They started life as 100% brand new Meyle HD control arms, not some cheap ebay bullshit arms with rubber isolated outer balljoints
Just so there's no confusion, they're still using the Meyle HD balljoints, those discs in the balljoint holes are simply there to protect the machined surface of the balljoint hole from paint
Based on measurements i took years ago, e90 inner tie rods + e36 outers will work just fine, but I will confirm this before taking orders
Within the next week or two I'd like to order up six more sets to modify. I also don't like taking money from people before being ready to ship a product out, but I'd like to know that I at least have three people that'd be committed to buy before I ordered the arms up (no actual commitment, just a verbal one)
I'm about to get a little daring here - the cost will be four presidents typically featured in urban music genres, plus whatever i get quoted for shipping. If you already bought my blocks (or want to order them at the same time - for just two formerly mentioned presidents until i run out of inventory!) the cost is reduced by one union general
Hit me up if you've got any questions, either in this thread or via PM, i'm not picky
