I take it the problem with your tig welder is that it only runs on 220V? I can vouch for the fact that you don't need any significant amperage to tig up exhaust. I have blown my 110V breaker a few times when floorboarding my tig welder while welding my diff, but other than that I have been able to continue to be completely lazy about getting a proper 220V circuit installed out to my garage. And if I can be lazy, I will. Haha
Those lego kits are cool AF as the kids say, but damn, kind of pricey...
i may be interested in this in a few months when you get all the little pieces together.
can confirm. kits work and kept me from spinning out. the name fits.

Yeah, it runs on 220, plus the gas tank I use is humongous, I believe it holds 300 cubic feet of Argon. The deal was too good to pass up on it, but the downside is it's not exactly easy to move around, definitely too much of a PITA to get to my house
What specifically do you mean by little things? Like a bolt-on tie rod solution or something? I don't think I'm missing anything else, though sometimes it's hard to see the forest for the trees

Aah, I meant a specifically cut piece of metal to use in a DIY extended control arm scenario
The idea is that if you want to weld your arms up yourself, these will save you the hassle of cutting and beveling 3/4" steel. The edges were beveled at a 45* angle on a mill, which gives you plenty of room to get a good root weld in. Let me assure you that grinding steel this thick by hand is not a pleasant experience. Pretty sure pricing will be half a C note, shipped

Need a little light on the subject there bro.
Whelp, I've got all the low ackerman blocks powdercoated
I left the stock ackerman blocks in their sandblasted form as roadrace guys didn't seem too keen on the drifty color scheme. People will have the option of getting the blocks powdercoated in their color of choice or leaving them as-is at an adjusted price
This week I'll be working on taking pictures and making a website, then I'll officially be in business!

Hey Dave,
have you considered making steering rack travel limiters for the roadrace guys/gals? we don't need 400* of steering angle. just the bumpsteer/rollcenter correction and the quicker ratio. it's just a thought since you're on the path to cover all bases.

These look awesome! New to the site here so very unfamiliar nn how to work things usually I'm just a ghost and read posts. But, I'm very interested in a set!
I sure have Chris, but I'm a bit undecided as to how to go about it. I did prototype some clamp-on rack stops for ultimate adjustability, but they can be moved with enough steering effort. I'm also not too keen on the idea of simply cranking out generic stops, as depending on peoples' wheel/tire/offset setups the amount of travel that needs to be limited can vary greatly. Or are wheel/tire/offset combos more generic in the roadrace scene? If so, I could probably have limiters ready within the next month or two
Glad to hear it man! I just bought a website domain and am currently working on getting it up and running. Keep an eye on this thread, I'll let everyone know when I'm ready to start accepting orders!

Ok, I read the post. my goals: Build a super low budget set of drift missiles (3 or 4) for us to practice on. Im not looking for competition setup here. With that said,
Can someone answer this question: How do you account for the loss of caster?
-This looks like it moves the bottom of the strut backwards therefore removing caster. From my experience caster and ackerman are what determine the "self steer" effect. How do these feel? Has anyone ran these vs a cut knuckle or just a real kit (wisefab or SLR)? Just checking.

I'd rather the suspension bits break/bend than my car. I consider that a pro and not a con.
Status: Someone put glitter in my oil. Wait. Why's all my oil outside the engine? What's that knocking?
To each their own I guess. I'd rather nothing breaks, because it was engineered correctly. The SLR arms really are a great structural design. It would just suck to cough up X amount of money for an angle kit, just to have it break the next time you run over a grain of sand.
All jokes aside, I have just had/seen bad experiences with their products. I'm sure it works amazing for some people! I do not however, like their ackerman/caster configuration. That's personal preference I guess though!

Are you still selling these? I’m doing coil overs in the next month and quicker steering would be great for autocross.
I sure am. I'm not sure if they'll work with your setup though, do you have enough clearance to lose (with offset CABs) .45" of rearward wheel well clearance?

I'm not really sure at this point. I have centered delrin CABs yet to be installed, but could probably swap those for offset.
What are the effects on ackerman, caster, and bump steer if I keep the stock control arms and just do offset CABs?
It's the same as if you had offset CABs and extended control arms, only with less caster and less wheel clearance. I really don't recommend centered CABs with these blocks, with those you lose about .9" of rearward wheel clearance

Are these still available? I’m not new to drifting but new to drifting with an e30 and would like more info
Yeah, but I won't be ready to sell any parts until the first/second-ish week of July. Currently homeless and living out of a box truck. Once I get my parts in a few weeks I'll be running a fire sale to free up some space. Estimated pricing will be $150 for the angle blocks, $20 for DIY control arm extensions, and something in the ballpark of $200 for the pre-extended control arms. Final price on the control arms will depend on how far away you live, as shipping those can get expensive. We'll see. I'll post a thread about it once I'm ready to sell
