hows the vacuum feel while engine running? Using hobbs switch for it to turn on only under boost?

I have two -12an fittings on top of my valve cover right above the cam cover so oil can't escape, but they're only going to atmosphere since I have hood clearance issues with this setup, also the stock CCV port has been modified for a -10 an fitting that also goes to atmosphere and dumps to the ground. I would like to add the SAP to this location since it seems to be the best option for Ccv.

That's correct, I have a Hobbs switch set up at 3psi with a led inside the car to let me know when the system is running

    Interesting...

I would expect the pump to become a restriction eventually though.

After much testing the pump really makes a difference, I drove the car for almost a years with it and had no issues, no oil sipping out, while w/o the pump going to the exhaust I had valve cover leaks. Dumping to the exhaust w/o the pump did not work out for me, the way is set up now works flawlessly

When I first got my m52 boosted I had ran a line from my Ccv to Oneway valve to exhaust with the vacuum fitting. This did not work for me. CC Pressure was at a all time high with this setup I guess my exhaust was too restrictive. The pump idea is def the best setup, also have other Ccv ports vent to atmosphere incase pump failure.

Was the "bung" welded in at the proper angle?

No idea how many years this has worked without a hiccup for me. Probably 4 or 5.

It's more than just having the bung at 45*. It needs to be clocked at the right angle also so that the exhaust pulls.

I forgot which thread this idea was mentioned, but here is my solution going back together with mine. $12 and extremely easy. MK4 Jetta 2.0 breather screws right onto the valve cover, and the stock cap screws onto that. Much larger than -10 AN. I'd have to go measure it.

On my old setup near 600whp, I had the stock vent going under the car and never had any blow by to speak of at all. Now with the EFR9180 at 25psi, I sprung a small leak on the intake manifold side of the valve cover gasket, just behind where the stock breather port is. I'm speculating that can only be excess crankcase pressure given how the engine is tilted in a way that oil would not easily pool/slosh on the high side up there. I'm trying this breather out and will report back. I intend to run this hose, as well as the stock breather location just to atmosphere under the car. Running to the catch can was giving me the nasty water/oil mixture from condensation, and I'd rather not deal with draining that all the time.

I mean I'm pretty sure I had it installed correctly. The only reason I found out it was the cause of my oil burning issue/smoke out the exhaust, blowing my turbo seals, etc.... I had taken the turbo off, used my stock maf, injectors, and a n/a tuned ecu, for inspection purposes while it was n/a and I was putting miles on it I started getting smoke out my exhaust and oil residue out my ccv's. The exhaust was actually pressurizing the CC. Luckily I caught it while it wasn't boosted. I probably would have parted it. I have two extra sap pumps I'm ready to hook one up!

    - - - Updated - - -

The ones on top of my valve cover just vent to atmosphere. I'll run the factory Ccv port to the SAP.

Whats the underside of that look like? I know the inside of the valve cover is not flat...
