I was looking for a silver that would match the color of the plastic engine covers. I'll have to wait until I get the timing chains and guides done to see what they look like installed. Looks real close.
Sanded with sander and by hand. About 5 hours for both.

That'll last about.... a month. Maybe 2... before it starts bubbling.
Powdercoat is the only choice on magnesium valve covers that will hold up a decent amount of time. Even then you'll looking at 2-3 years if you're lucky. The substrate is just too unstable.

Seems like you are a stuck record and have been playing the same tune for the last 10 years. I have painted magnesium parts for the military as a civilian contractor where they go on Navy ships in a saltwater environment. If done right it will last many years. I am giving my input on what I used so others have a viable alternate for powder coating. Thank you for your input though.
