2000 BMW M5 Dinan S2
Badged and serial numbered Dinan S2. This 2000 M5 comes with every Dinan upgrade except the supercharger kit, including: custom tune (nearly 500 HP), carbon fiber intake manifolds, enlarged ITB's, lightweight flywheel, JRZ suspension w/ camber plates, Dinan sway bars and strut braces, 3.45:1 ratio LSD, slotted brake rotors w/ braided steel lines, EBC race pads, Rogue short shift kit, and more.
Car was custom built ($100k+ total cost) and professionally maintained by C2 Design in Tampa since 2001. www.c2dusa.com Car was originally white/tan, but now is Estoril blue - a BMW color that was never used in E39 M5 production - over black leather and gray diamond-stitched alcantara. Headlights and taillights have been upgraded to angel-eye and LED versions (respectively) from 2003+ models. Wheels are BMW factory style-65 rims painted metallic gray. One of a kind interior interior features hand-laid carbon fiber trim kit, wireless K40 radar detector and laser jammer system (sensors installed behind front/rear bumpers, hidden on/off switch under dash, and LED's integrated into rear view mirror), and factory original audio and navigation systems (which still work wonderfully). Blue LED illumination under door sills produces a subtle, but luxurious effect on entry/exit.
Car includes every option less the rear sun shade and parking sensors, and everything works except the tape player (and nobody plays tapes anymore). Car has always lived in FL and been garaged/pampered; I am the 3rd owner with clean title in hand. There is very minor curb rash on 3 of 4 wheels, two very small dents (one each on hood and driver's door), and some rock pitting on the front bumper (needs touch-up or a re-spray). Exterior is therefore 8/10, the interior is 9.5/10, and mechanics are 9/10. New clutch was installed last summer (July 2015) and new tires mounted last week (July 2016).
Car and Driver called the Dinan S2 a 'pocket rocket' and recorded 0-60 mph in 4.1 seconds and 181 mph top speed (article found online via Google search). This car pampers its owner with the best of all worlds: one of a kind uniqueness, world-class luxury/comfort, supercar performance, and everyday driveability. This M5 coined the phrase: The BEAST! Put simply: this is a daily-driven, affordable, 4-door, Ferrari killer. I love this car and hate to see it go, but need capital for a new project.
$18k firm. Lots of lesser M5's sell for lots more cash. With a little bit of spit and polish, this could be one of the nicest E39 M5's around. Car is priced accordingly. Just passed 100k gently used miles. Own a supercar sedan for under $20k! Serious inquiries at tedhaumesser@gmail.com.
