Crankcase vent valve repair kit.
The crankcase vent valve is non-replaceable. If the valve is faulty it is recommended to replace the complete valve cover. The usual cost for repair is around $1,400.

When the vent valve is not working some of the symptoms are: check engine light, rough running or stalling, and a high pitched noise.
Specialized Service and Repair has a valve repair kit that will fit: 1, 3, 5, X4, X5, & Z4's. It has a new valve, spring, special tool and instructions. The cost of the kit is $300.

Specialized Service and Repair wants to video the complete process of repair. If you have a car that is driven a lot, or has severe symptoms, SSR will do the repair, so they can video the process (the kit is still $300). SSR is in the DFW Texas area.
