MAJOR UPDATE Q3-2017. 2.8M50 Destroyed
Hi all - Firstly this build would not be possible without my friend and compact genius BlueBimma. He and I are going to to be swapping in his freshly rebuilt M52 and trans into my daily 98 318Ti sport.
Some history on the car - I had wanted a compact since they came out/earliest I can remember. I bought in 2009 and it has gotten me through college albeit having front end damage and rear quarter damage. The rear quarter damage has been fixed and have a hood that will need painted. I have painted new bumper and nose panel.
Currently the car mod list is small and mainly stock replacement for reliability and affordability in school. But this has now changed. Within the coming months the car will be setup as follows with some of the suspension bits already done if there are no delays.

Adding some swap photos and updated the first post with current modifications to car. Still need a hood and to fix slight misfire when hot issue. Overall good. Swap has 16K on it already. Rattle canned the front nose panel and bumper. Added the brake ducting, new liners, etc.
Merry Christmas all. Well just to add an update. Motor was money shifted by acquaintance and completely destroyed. I picked up a local S52 with 0 documents other then 130Kish mileage. Motor was clean inside but wanted some maintenance down while out. Local shop machined head and timed motor. Feels more powerful then previous motor but not much. Current plans are to finish rear brakes, wheel bearings all around for preventative, E30 6cyl axles and minor bodywork. I daily when I can but am looking for a 6spd trans to keep 410LSD. Also not going to drive in salt if I can help it. Surface rust starting that will need addressed. Still mated to a 300K Getrag that is a champion. If all goes smooth then it will be "finished" in spring 2018. Except for wear items I've built it for a peppy street car and it is. needs to focus more on E30 M10 project.
