I think they all went to auto hid. It's only showing threads from the last month. Nobody has really been talking on here lately, I assume the weathers been nice so people are out driving and off their computers. I get on m3forum every once in awhile but usually this one is more active, especially with the e36 crowd

Once they stopped allowing for sale threads I really noticed a dip in how much people would post. Also, the forum standard is 1 month old threads get displayed so it looks like it's much more dead than it actually is.

I think most of the traffic has moved to PNW BMW on Facebook. I think this part of the board is dead.

There just isn't much going on in the PNW right now. The Facebook group sucks.

I also think this section, is generally, pretty divided on what people like and dislike. That doesn't lead to much back and forth banter.

Most of the threads were stuff for sale and they all got moved.

Otherwise, I think everyone is out enjoying our abbreviated summer.

This section needs FS adds it's usually good stuff being posted and going to good homes. I do wish more people posted or linked cool threads to see what locals are up to.

Heres what I've been doing lately.

I agree the FS threads is how I met a lot of cool people over the years. Standing around in a parking lot at a meet is alright I guess but it's not like we are wearing name tags.

Most of the guys that I have met buying parts have been great and offer good advice and experiences. Most of my Parkin g lot buys have turned into hour long conversations.

    Shy?

Then again, considering the gun threads on here in the past...might want to make sure you don't startle anyone by introducing yourself.

Why on earth did they ban FS/WTB posts? Reading through nationwide listings is useless to me on here—I've always found what I needed in the PNW forum until now.

Shy? Not at all. Met at least 15 or so people from Bimmerforums alone.

Completely agree. If someone is going to ship something then they'll list it on eBay and get way more exposure. CL and FB for local stuff.

Basically, It costs a lot of money to run a forum like BF.c with the administrators and serves and upgrades and such. Money for that comes from both the advertisement banners you see as well as forum sponsors. When administrator like Kevlar want to convince someone to sponsor the "For sale" section for example, he wants to be able to tell them, there are 100,000 views per month to this specific sub forum. If 20% of the forum's for sale posts are in the local thread, well that's 20,000 views that the "For Sale" section doesn't get and that's less attractive to forum sponsors who would in turn pay less money.

    Most? That's reassuring...

On an aside, I'm thinking of picking up a long land brown bess - observing my 2nd amendment in the traditional sense as it was meant.

Yeah I completely understand. I wish there was a way to filter by region in the for sale section.

This is the biggest issue with how the classifieds are set up here. Centralizing the ads is fine, but your need to be able to easily set a region the ad, and then be able to search within a region..

I came here because I wondered the same exact thing... did this forum die. I don't frequent the forums anymore because I'm not buying anything more for the e36, and because all the events I needed to know about passed already. But sometimes it's nice coming back to look at BMW related stuff.

Side note about the sales.. I have met a lot of good people from buying and selling parts. I feel like the FS threads were fine, they didn't cause too much clutter. But they never got deleted when they were sold.. Panjo is fine to use, but local is so much easier.

Damn, pnw section is really lacking since my last visit here (like a year). Really sad to see since these threads are/were the only threads I ever really posted in on here.
And as someone mentioned, the fs threads were how I met quite a few people on here. Alpine 318is would be someone in this thread that I have met because of the fs threads even (cool guy too haha). Hopefully the pnw looks a little livelier in the near future. Maybe post more meets and maybe post projects/updates to liven things up a bit?
I don't know. I only came back cause I'm purchasing another BMW and was looking for some info.
