New to e46 with a question about the front center armrest

Greetings,

My fiance recently bought a 2002 e46 330xi, and she loves it. However, we are both six feet tall and find the center armrest really annoying. If we need to use the cup holders, then we have to fold it up. I like the cup holders because they actually work, unlike those in my e38. When it is up, we are always banging our elbows on it since we have to have the seat back pretty far. This is an issue since we like having an armrest. Is there an alternative armrest that either doesn't cover the cup holders or folds more out of the way?

AFAIK there is only a center armrest delete.
The lay of the land there doesn't really allow for much flexibility.

You can easily remove the arm rest. I've removed mine so I could redye the leather. You'll have to remove the part that holds the cup holder.
