    Carpet cleaning

What is the recommended method of cleaning interior carpets? Not full blown detail cleaning but just spot/area cleaning. I was thinking Meguiars APC 1:10 a brush and using a shopvac to remove.

That will work. Test first. Typically one of the Oxy type carpet cleaners works well for me.

I just ordered some CG Fabric Clean since it was only $16 for a gallon. I know the APC does great at cleaning anthracite headliners but from the videos I watched it seems this CG is extremely good for cleaning carpets.

I've always been a big fan of Folex for carpets. Spray, dwell, agitate with brush or just towel dry.
It's never failed me for pesky carpet spots, not so much in the car but in the house for sure. In Canada here, I get it at Canadian Tire, which might be comparable to Lowes maybe. Big store, sells most everything.
Give Folex a try and get two spray bottles. One for you, one for the house. Great stuff.

Remember to rinse the area if you can, simply spray some water as you shop vac. Any residue soap will attract more dirt, so if there is residue your carpets will get dirtier and worse quicker. A simple rinse helps the longevity of the fibers and cuts down on the apc smell. This is true for all fiber carpets, in the house and in the car.
