That's what I need. I drive a 93 325i sedan and I wanna convert the front end into an e46. Not a complete conversion, I'm going to keep my e36 m3 bumper but I want the hood, grill, and the head lights and the e46 m3 side fenders. any pictures similar to this type of conversion available? how much would it cost? I live in the DC area, what would be competent shop besides Wagonworks?
ummm, ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

i know they have a conversi0on there.
MGD is currently doing a full front end conversion + widebody on his e36. Search for his posts or PM him, you'll get some ideas. If done correctly, the conversion can look very sexy

tnt2k1 - I have a 93 325i as well. I'm not doing the same setup as you're talkin about but it's similar. I have the headlights, hood, fenders, and grills from a facelifted e46 (03 325i sedan). I don't know anyone who makes kits for what you're talkin about but the body shop that's doing my work is going to be making a bolt on kit for the E36 which basically does what I've done minus the widebody. They're all oem parts too so there's no cheap fitting fiberglass replica parts involved. The E46 fenders are much wider than the E36 and you can easily fit 19's without problem. If you have any questions I'll try an help you out as best I can.
damn matt, i cant wait until your widebody turbo is complete, I want to take a ride in the beast.

Matts car is an exception.
I would think twice before taking on a project like this.
Matt's car looks hot so far. The whole wide bodykit and everything on the car looks really good. It looks like it should be there.
That purple one in the link that madddskillz posted looks kind of bad. The front just doesn't really look like it belongs on there.
IMO the E36 front end is much sexier than the E46. The E46 is almost too bubbly.
what he said....but be original and do what u want.Originally Posted by on a friday
EXACTLY. To me, it doesn't matter how "good" and "clean" the job is. It just doesn't match. You've got an aggressive-looking car and you're putting on something too curvy.Originally Posted by on a friday

Just imagine what a 2002's desirability would be like if it has the face of an E21 3-series. Or a Z3 with the face of a Z4. Or an E34 with the face of an E39. Sound Of Speed, you got it right, eeewwwwwwwww!

lol unfortunately they don't match up at all. I had custom brackets made to bolt on 2003 front fenders to match up with the hood exactly. The actual 2003 sedan hood is approx 4-5" wider than the E36 hood so doing an easy conversion is definitely out of the question. I attached a couple pics of the update. It's rough right now and the front suspension was lifted up so it could get on and off the trailer. Headlights are going in this week. Shaving the front door handles and front bumper body will be next.
