2012 335i sedan - Is it possible/easy to switch the right front passenger seat (bottom cushion and back) with the front driver seat cushion and back? Can a lay person do this, or is it too technical?

The seat bottoms attach on to the seat housing by four couplers. They'll probably break when you remove them, but they're cheap. The seat backs can interchange as well. If you tilt the seats all the way forward you'll see two small screws that hold the plastic back onto the seat. Remove this and you'll see that the fabric of your seats stretches and clips into several small tabs. It's not that difficult a job to do. It's much easier with the seats removed, but you can do them in place.

Oops, I just realized that you have a 2012. My bad, I have a 93, so I'm not sure if it's the same.
It's not about getting from point A to B, it's about every curve in between.
