looking forward to pics - i think i want to do square contours next year.
Going to put my square 7" winter versions on in a few weeks to get used to the idea.
Well the passenger window broke, had some electrical issues so since she was feeling neglected I finally got a hall pass this weekend to fully detail the outside. Touched up the paint (can't recommend paintscratch.com enough) and also did all the exterior plastics.
1st= Meguiars 105 Ultra Cut and their DMC5 pad
2nd= Meguiars 205 Ultra Finishing and an orange medium cut pad
3rd= Adam's Buttery Wax and blue wax/final polish pad

Very nice! Beautiful color!
Looks great!!
I really need to get my car detailed one of these days
Did some test fitting of the 8.5" Contours before I take all 4 to get refinished. Turns out the previous owner already had 10mm spacers on the front. Score! Dropping wheels off saturday, should take a week or so. Ordered new M emblems for the wheels and 20 new black lugs (car has a stud conversion already). Liking the meat up front but not too aggressive.
That LR wheel looks pretty fresh but camera doesn't pick up the issues. BMW decided to mount the original wheel weights to the outside of the wheel and someone at some point looks like they took a chisel to it! Probably won't have finished pics until later. Car is going to be on all 4 7.5s for winter storage.

Car looks amazing... keep up the great job.
Thanks!
Here's a teaser as I won't be mounting until we get ready for our trip to the Tail of the Dragon in late March but turned out really nice! Anyone in Chicagoloand check out rimrepaircenter.com in Highland Park. Ryan does all the north shore exotics type wheels but will take a pleb in a BMW like me

Well she's been in hibernation somewhat. Been really nice this winter (relatively) so I've been able to drive her regularly.
Been working on the car for our annual April trip to the Tail of the Dragon/Smoky Mtns in NC.
Put a stage 1 conforti tune, AFE intake to go along with the Stromung exhaust the original owner had. Felt like both of those are a must since the stock intake is so quiet and the stock tune sucks at low RPMs.
Headlights also suck, can't believe the plastic garbage they put on these for a $45k car in the late 90s. Put in some ZKWs, just halogen projectors for now. Not sure if I want to fool with retrofitting an HID kit and not as period correct. Did clean up everything behind the lights/frame rails that I couldn't get to when I did the engine bay detail initially.
Did plugs and a few other maintenance items. Putting in a UUC shifter/DSSR,new guibo, and stainless brake/clutch lines next week or so. Got a super cheap (The cheap ones don't look like a spaceship) media receiver. Can't have a tape deck for the 11 hours each way to NC and back! So once that is on I think I just need to do a coolant flush and get an alignment before we're ready for the trip!
Oh and picked up a new daily (I'm a VW and BMW fanboy )

Guess i'm spoiled with all the roads in the smokies. I'm not sure if i could live life without them haha. Great car very nice shape.
Congrats, man. Beautiful car. Super jelly of those low miles!
Golly; those sure are a pretty color code!
1995 BMW M3/2/5 - Alpine White - Vaders - Stage II Maxsil Pistons, Chipped, 24# Injectors, MagnaFlow Exhaust, and heated door locks!
So tail of the dragon trip is complete. 1987 miles over the course of 7 days, 550 of which were in the mountains. Car was sublime. My square setup I get a slight bit of steering wheel shake between 65 and 70 which is annoying. Not sure if it's the spacer but I am getting a tad of runout on the front rotors. Doing full rotor/pad swap in the next few weeks. Going to run my stock 7.5s up front tonight to see if that's the issue.
Otherwise the car was perfect and my first trip down there in a 'real' sports car instead of my modified R32. The 50/50 weight balance makes the roads feel like I'm on rails. Can't wait to go back.
After going out there I think I have so new ideas on what I want to do the car since it's on all stock bushings and everything I don't think I want to go stiffer. The Eibach pro springs and bilsten sports were plenty stuff for how I drive. I'm probably just going to some group M (I think that's what they are called) engine mounts and probably replace all the trans/diff mounts. The car is super comfy at highway speed on the way to and back and don't want that go away. Going to replace basically every bushing in the front too but I have a year to do it all. But overall very happy with the switch and bummed I'm back on straight flat roads.

Car looked great in person!
glad you got a hold of such a nice example.
now I need to take a page from your book and get some 245s up front! My 215s weren't getting it done.

Been a while since I posted in here. Did a lot of work this summer after 1st NC trip to make the car better for 2018 trip.
- New Stoptech Rotors, EBC Reds and Motul 600
- Front and rear swaybar mounts and Front rear control arm bushings (pflex purple)
- Adjustable lower rear control arms
- Rogue engineering engine (Group N style) and Trans mounts (Feels sooo much better getting on/off throttle)
- New Tstat and alternator
- New Steering rack and another alignment, finally sorted steering wheel shimmy.
- A whole bunch more detailing
Sadly there isn't much more I want to improve/do to the car. So I guess I'll just drive it and hope too man things don't break!
