    Woo hoo. Finally

It is a pnp obd2 stand alone 100%.. You plug it in, the car runs without changing anything on the car.

If you want full sequential you have to change the cam sensor from the stupid Siemens sensor to the Hall sensor which is a 15 min job.

How much is the Vems ? These MS PNP are gonna be around the normal range for standalones if I'm remembering correctly.

Matt, I wouldn't recommend investing your time into this obscure cam sensor. The earlier m50tu hall sensor is cheap, easy to install, and your pool of prospective buyers will not have a problem installing a cam sensor. You could probably include this in the kit for less than you are spending in time to develop on the stock sensor.

Yes, tbh if it's just as simple as swapping a sensor that'll work with it to get this ball rolling and possibly get this working and ready by this winter then yes. I'd like to have this standalone for next year.

I'd say about $1000 USD + shipping depending on where you purchase it from, etc.

Not only that, you're just adding unneeded complexity and points of failure for no good reason.

Does an adapter harness have to be made to use the OBD1 cam sensor with the obd2 harness?

Including an OBD1 cam sensor and adapter harness (if an adapter turns out to be necessary) is plan B if this doesn't work. And our electrical engineer needs to work on SOMETHING while he's stuck in his house from a COVID-19 lockdown with no chance to do on-car testing. Mailing him a set of cam trigger wheels and a sensor was pretty easy.

Awesome, once that's figured out. What do you think will be the ETA on these kits or at least for the start of the group buy?

I'll be sure to keep you posted. The group buy will probably be open when the ECU itself is 2-3 months out, or less.

Can you email me (support@diyautotune.com) with more details about what's going on with that deposit? Didn't realize we had any still unused at this point.

Preliminary work on the OBD2 cam sensor testing is looking promising. We're also working on ASC integration.

Not yet - we'll open up the deposits when the project is further along.

Just passed 4th year anniversary and still none out there?
At what point does something get deemed "vaporware"?

Our engineer has a question about the cam sensor on OBD2 motors. Can anyone measure the depth from the sensor flange to trigger wheel with a calipers or depth micrometer? If not, does anyone have a spare cylinder head - which can be hopelessly FUBAR as long as we can spin the cam - they'd be willing to part with?

Alternatively, if you have the valve cover off, it looks like you should be able to get a feeler gauge in there to measure sensor gap directly.
